Bong for Silver Surfer

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by newagelightbulb, Oct 19, 2011.

  1. Hello, I have a Silver Surfer vape and it's great but I really want to ice the vapor. SSV sells their bong adapters in 14mm or 19mm sizes, but very few of the bongs sold online have any information about the size of the ... what is it, stem hole? So can anyone recommend a bong to use with an SSV bong adapter? I just want a small one (say 12 inches) with a neck big enough for homemade ice cubes.

    Thanks!

  2. Check out the bongs on here there's some real nice ones with all the size details you need.

  3. Thanks for the reply ... I'm probably being stupid but I don't know where to look for the measurements?

For example I just grabbed this one, I want something simple and cheap (although I don't know if there are arguments for glass over acrylic?):

    Acryl bong clear - Bongs & Waterpipes - Smoking Pipes - Grasscity.com

But I don't see anywhere an indication of what size the 'stem hole' is, and I need to be sure it's either 14mm or 19mm so I can get the matching adapter from SSV.

  4. To work with those adapters you need to have something with a ground glass connection joint. They only come in those two sizes. It can't be a metal bowl. must be a pull out slide type slide/bowl (regardless of carbhole or not)

For example I have an SSV and I recently purchased the 19mm water pipe adapter to use with my also purchased Glasscity 10....I mean 8 arm bubbler. This has an 18/18.8/19 or whatever size you want to call it, but it fits the 19mm adapter from 7th Floor Perfectly.

The only important thing is that you need something with a ground glass connection for the slide/bowl that is one of those two sizes and then buy your adapter accordingly.

  5. Again, thanks for the reply. It doesn't seem like the words 'ground glass' appear in any of the descriptions, but I paged through many of the glass bongs and it looks like just about anything with what looks like ground glass is going to be $100 or more. So yeah, not sure if it's worth that much of an investment, the SSV already cost me $150.

The biggest problem I'm having with the vape is killer dry throat and, weirdly, sores in my mouth. So I'll need something ... but I have to do this on a budget. Weak!

  6. Consider 150 a good price for the SSV, I paid much more.
But it will just label the joint size as either 14 or 19 mm. And yes, you are going to pay for it, its worth it thought.

  7. Here, dude.

Four mouse clicks away from this page, by the way.

  8. Hey notoriouscam, thanks for the help. Just one more question for you: does your bubbler have room for ice? Or do bubblers not work with ice?

Yeah the stem hole = the joint.
Glass on glass (GONG) comes in 14mm or 19mm. High end (hand made) bongs are GONG.

You want high end because Chinese sucks. Some Chinese are GONG.

This here is one of the best deals for a 12" ice pinch straight tube with drilled downstem in a slim profile (18/14). 18/14 means the bong joint is 18mm but the slide (whip adaptor) joint is 14mm. More versatile.

RX Industries 12" 38mm Straight Tube USA

So of course you would need the 14mm SSV adapter with that bong.

Edit* I got distracted. That $60 bong is my pick. However SSV sells cheaper options like the Vapor Tamer, have you look at their site?

    $15 Vaper tamer (half price)

  10. Honestly ice will only be worse on your throat and lungs if your already having problems, Try vaping at lower temps. Try to grind your herb up a little more. Reduce the heat of the air your pulling in.

  11. I was going to suggest warmer water in a bong actually. It's great stuff.

Ice is rumored to be bad for the lungs. I don't use it anyway, it messes my water levels up.

  12. Hey thanks! The vapor tamer seems like a good option.

Honestly it's not that I don't look, it's that I'm kind of stupid. I don't know what to look FOR. I just assumed I'd be looking for a bong, because I saw that SSV had the bong-adpater thing, then got lost. Really, I blame capitalism. Too many choices!

  13. Hahah it's quite alright, you're not dumb.
I prefer a bong, or GONG bubbler, plus their water adapter..

My main vapor bong for the SSV and others is a BC 2011 bubbler with gridded circ.

  14. I haven't tried the SSV glass though. Not saying it's not good, because the reviews are good! I'm just sayin.. well a bong is loads fun.

$15 and only some minor glue mishaps on the Vapor Tamer.

What to look FOR is whatever you want, man! Just as long as it's going to work together nicely, and functions well.
