So I have acquired a glass "vase" that resembles a mini bong. However, I am having trouble going about making a hole for the downstem. Is it possible to get a torch, melt the glass, and use a coat hanger/something else to make the hole? Should I just go buy a glass drill bit? Which would be easier or better or both? thanks
Buy a glass drill bit. Make sure you keep water running over it while you drill, and take your time. Dont wanna shatter the glass. I made one where I used Epoxy to stick the downstem in, but if you sand the whole after you drill and buy a grommet that fits, you could have a removable downstem which would be nice.
Your not going to be able to melt that glass without a proper torch, even then your more than likely going to make the vases explode, trust me, been there done that, almost shit myself. Just invest in a set of glass drill bits, and remember, slow and steady wins the race.
Thanks guys, time to go to lowe's or home depot. And I have a rubber grommet, just have to get a bit that will make it work
