Bong came with a glass bead and I dont know what it is.

  1. So, I recently purchased a new piece from the local smoke shop. Now I'm not completely new to bongs but this is my second one. When the guy was packing it up for sale, he removed a single glass bead from the downstem and when I got home and unpacked everything i have 3 pieces, my bong the stem and this tiny glass bead and I have no idea what this bead is for. Could someone maybe enlighten me a little please?
I'd rather not accidentally ruin my new peice but at the same time, if for this style of bong this bead is somehow necessary I'd rather I use it correctly. 15751825563867904336841688340378.jpg

  2. I'd say it was a diffuser bead. But just one?

  3. Yes it was just the one and it looked like it either came from the stem itself or the hole it slides into (sorry my terminology probably isnt the best)
He put it in the ziplock baggie and everything was wrapped up in bubble wrap

Just about the only thing I could find on google was diffuser beads but I want to make sure just in case, and it would seem odd to me that if it came with diffuser beads, why only one?

  4. could it be a glass screen?

  5. can it fit in there to work as a screen of some sort?

  6. It fits inside of the tube the stem rests in but the stem itself seems to have one built in, or at least a piece to hold the bud in place, when the bead is in with the stem on top it has some room to move around but I'm really not sure if its right., the only other bong I have used just had a mounted stem and bowl and a carb hole on the backside so this is very new to me 15751834769443424867743092964336.jpg 15751834364278038610915745511874.jpg 15751833923437787100866283886484.jpg 15751834364278038610915745511874.jpg 15751834769443424867743092964336.jpg

  7. Just use the bong and keep the bead in the bag. It's what my dad used to call "extra parts."

  8. It just boggles the mind of WHY they would send an "extra piece"...

  9. Well this advice shall be taken for now.
But I do have a side question from something you mentioned earlier about diffuser beads. While trying to find out what it was from google, I noticed that there are some that are apparently like orbeez but for well, waterpipes and such, would they actually be worth using and would orbeez be a safe alternative to them? Or would deciding to use diffuser beads be best done by using some that are specifically sold as diffusers?

  10. They should be safe. I know that they sell some diffuser beads that grow in water like orbeez; they're likely the same thing.

Only thing I would worry about is stuff getting stuck in the bong.

  11. Can you look at a website and see what it is

  12. looks like a glass screen. lotta companies like to throw a one or two in with bongs. you put it in the bowl like a normal screen would be. they never work very well in my experience.

  13. hmmm if I was to have a guess it would be a free anal bead...... kidding. I would say a glass screen but I don't know why you would need one for a bong. Glass pipe screens work like a charm though!

  14. Have you asked the shop where you bought it? If they don't know they can probably find out from the mfr.

  15. Best answer yet
