BO2 impressions

  1. I know there are threads for this game but they're for specific systems and I haven't seen a thread for sharing your impression on the game in general. I just got the game today so here goes. This is all regarding multiplayer.

Feel: the game feels good. People say it feels like BO but I don't know. It feels way more polished and honestly has a more unique feel to it I think. I also don't understand people saying its harder either. I was good at MW3 and so far I seem to be doing good on this one. Weapons feel like they take longer to kill with than in MW3. I mostly used shottys today and they feel way more consistent/solid than before.. shame there's only 4 of them. The SMAW feels better too haha for whatever that's worth. Sound is better too.

Class customization: when I read about the new approach prerelrase it sounded awesome... and it might be.. but it's sort of confusing at first. This is mostly because navigating items and setting stuff up just seems to take longer. I'm sure once one gets used to the new menu styles this wont be an issue though. Unlocking things with tokens rather than leveling is odd too but we'll see how it plays out. I think it has potential to add a little more depth to the experience though.

Killstreaks: I haven't used many yet. I noticed you don't get XP for calling shit in which is weird. I also noticed you get a small assist bonus when a teammate kills an enemy with your uav in the air which is cool. The hunter drone thing is pretty cool too I think.

Gamemodes: the standard shit is there and stuff like sticks and stones is back. The unfortunate part is they don't offer shit for XP so if you're trying to level up you wont spend much time there. I also didn't see dropzone anywhere which sucks

Maps: this may be one of the most pleasant surprises thus far for me. I haven't played all of the maps yet I'm sure, but every map I've played has had me thinking it was good. Some flowed kinda weird and some offered a few too many camping spots but not as bad as previous games did. Unless my mind just flips around once I play them more, it will be safe to say this game has the best on disc maps out of the recent games.

Lag: not a problem. I only had noticeable lag one time today.

Spawns: kinda strange. They aren't as consistently fucked up like they were on MW3... but you still get some shady spawns once in a while.. especially in modes like multi team.

Graphics: More polished than before but still pretty much what you'd expect

In all I'm happy with the game so far. I think it'll keep me busy for a while but we'll see.

  2. i am pretty happy with it as well, pleasantly surprised. annoyed to see the RCXD and riot shield in the game, but that is by no means going to make me say zomg cod is teh sux0rz lololol!!!

but no, it's a great game. the maps, for the most part are pretty well thought out but there was 1 or 2 that i just couldnt make any sense of, i kept getting lost and everything in those maps just seemed very random. random alleyways, random doors leading to nowhere, random windows, fuckin random ass drop off in the middle of the map where you die if you fall down it...but thats ok. nuketown 2025 is very very cool.

the graphics i'm iffy about. the surrounding environment and map itself look like black ops 1 rather than mw2 and 3 which i like a lot. but the way the gun looks and sounds when you're behind it is EXACTLY like the MW/IW series....and that sucks. the guns all sound the same to me, like laser guns not actual guns. i dont like how they used the MW red dot as opposed to BO1's style red dot.

overall a good game, i'd give it a 7/10 myself.

  3. I thought most of the sounds were pretty good. Silenced SMGs however do sound silly as fuck.
