Maybe posted a bit too late, but sometimes the moon and the stars simply amaze me sometimes. Especially when I'm high. Tonight I walk out, the atmosphere is dark blue and such a bright moon. It's just sometimes so peaceful. Anyone else? Don't miss Friday night's rare blue moon beauty
That's interesting, watching the moon rise tonight I could tell there was something special about it..

I swear my schizophrenia gets worse during a full moon. That's not possible, though. It was a nice moon last night. Nice and bright. The moon has always been fascinating to me, like I can feel some sort of primal energy flowing from it.
That's just like saying a solar eclispe isn't rare or special since it happens every few years... The moon looked amazing that night though, it had a soft orange haze to it and looked huge when it was rising. I know nothing extremely special, but it gave me a feeling of bliss looking at it. I really enjoy cosmology though so maybe that has something to do with it.. space amazes me
Just as it should (at least shortly after rising.) First of all, the event described in the OP was last night, not tonight. Secondly, it wasn't supposed to appear blue in any way. What happened last night was a second full moon occurring during the same calender month, the first having been on August 1st. This happening is referred to as a Blue Moon, though in no way has any association with the moon actually appearing blue in color. The moon can actually appear to be blue in color/hue, though it is far rarer than the prior type of blue moon. It happens when the moon (during any phase) is slightly obscured by particulate matter of a certain very small size, within the Earth's atmosphere, usually from wild fire smoke or volcanic ash. If the size of the particles are right, the light from the moon will be filtered in such a way that gives the moon an apparent blue coloration. This event is essentially completely unpredictable, and not surprisingly is also known as a Blue Moon.
There's nothing rare or special about two full moons in one month..?
I said its not special. I didn't say its not rare. Rare is relative but it happens like.clockwork, so is it really rare? The Calender was created by humans. Ironically its based on lunar cycles but its imperfect because it needs to also follow the day cycle. I just meant its not magic of anything its just a cool fluke of nature
Dude I was camping on top of a mountain, smoking a blunt watching it! haha crazy how we all saw it and probably were stoned as fuck staring at it at same time, but yet so far away!
Dude.. just quit following me around trying to argue me over every post I make, it's really childish lol
