1. My friend had a buncha blue dream seeds n gave me a bunch so im planting about 5-10 tomorrow... i no its late but i live in So Cal and weather stays around 70-80 all the time so do u think it would be able to grow still? im just ganna get sum regular leftover soil my friends mom had from planting her flowers the grow it in and use everything basic... Just trying a natural theme kind of. please give me any opinion and feedback thanks

2. 1. Blue dream is a clone only strain.
2. Too late in the season, the sprout will autoflower
3. Recipe for failure using regular leftoversoil
4. IMO...not worth the effort.

3. i found a seed in my blue dream so. i dont know how it could be a clone only strain?!i have smoked quite a bit of bluedream.and i found a seed in the last 3 g's i got from the clinic so.im going to let it do its thing next season. if i plant it and it turns out male can i use it to pollinate my garden and get seeds that are blue dream x whatever the females are?

I thought dank was suppose to be seedless ?

Hope u the best

5. it is most of the time but shit happens.plants herm out. one seed didnt take up that much thc production!but if there were a bunch then yeah it would effect the thc level of your bud. personaly id rather have a dank sack and find a nice healthy seed inside for me to grow!

Becausethe true blue dream was crossed and then the mother was made. If you found a seed in your blue dream it's either not blue dream or the grower stressed the shot out of it...or pollinated it with a male in which case it's not blue dream

A seed coming from a hermied plant is far from healthy. It actually has slim chances of producing as well. The healthiest seeds are grown for seeds.

8. This doesn't really say much since for a mother of blue dream to exist, the cross obviously had to have been performed first. :poke:

Anyway, is it that the grower kept it a secret and no one knows the genetics of the cross? Is it that no one has the balls to re-do the cross and say "this and that seed company's blue dream" ?

I am new to growing, but it seems to me that a "clone only strain" just logically doesn't make much sense. Plants come from seed, thus even if you cloned a mother, that mother sprouted from a seed(somewhere down the line). Unless the plant that produced that original seed was herm and only produced one seed(which would be unhealthy), it's doubtful that it produced only one after being pollinated.

Could someone explain this to me? Was the original cross kept secret and the batch of seeds destroyed?

9. Plant A crossed with plant B creates blue dream C.

If you take a male and a female blue dream C and cross them, it will create seeds of plant D. Not the true blue dream.

So in order to get true blue dream you must take clones from the blue dream C plant.

10. What im saying is, who crossed plants A and B? What were they, and if crossed again, would that not end the "clone only" bonanza that has become blue dream?

You say, "If you take a male and female blue dream C and cross them.." but where would one find a male blue dream if its clone only?

11. Mind fucked >.<

12. Plants A and B were a specific phenotype Super Silver Haze (Never to be exactly the same) and a specific phenotype of DJ Shorts Blueberry crossed together to form a huge new group of phenotypes C these are all the seed that are produced. Each one could potentially be the next best genetics...you just have to grow them and find which one thrive the best. See how it's hard to replicate? You can get a similar blue dream cross...but not the same BLUE DREAM. :D

13. Would this make every cross "clone only" ?

14.
Would this make every cross "clone only" ?
Colorado dispensaries are selling a super silver haze bud, and so is a dispensery in nor cal. They are both super silver haze, just different pheno

15. Very confused. Can anyone simplify for a simpleton like myself?

Does nobody produce any blue dream seeds of a different pheno out of respect, or appreciation for the original?

If nobody cares about the super silver haze pheno, why does blue dream all of a sudden become "clone only" ?

16. People do care about the super silver haze pheno. It's very simple. Let's say an Blue dream wins the cannabis cup. So people try to replicate it, but nothing will be the same as the original pheno that won the cup. When you create seeds, they are of a variety, some good some bad. It would take years to cross the SSH and Blueberry to find the exact pheno that matches. Genetics is a coin flip. People do produce blue dream seeds of a different pheno...plenty of people, even subcool. There is no REAL blue dream, however there is the original, and then a lot of very good copies. People can't just grow seeds and sell them, you need a huge green house and takes lots of years just to produce one viable new strain.

17. Dude u need to google breading of
Mmj or phenotype or something. There is way to much to explain.

18. Apparently.. thanks for trying anyway.

I can't help but feel that there is one tiny connection I am not making. If plenty of people make blue dream seeds, why is it that it is considered "clone only"? Is it simply because the original phenotype BLUE DREAM has been preserved in clone and growers are unwilling to accept any other DJSBBXSSH cross as blue dream? What if somebody mothered their own pheno "blue dream" and passed the clones off as BLUE DREAM?

I get that you can not expect to re-produce the exact phenotype every time you cross BBXSSH. But wouldn't this be true for all strains? When exactly can one know for certain a strain is clone only?

19. well ill have fun growing my blue dream knock off.i know what blue dream looks and smells and tastes like and i know what i got from the clinic was blue dream from the color aff the hairs and the kiefyness of the bud.i think the plant probly just stressed out and hermed a seed its big and tiger striped and dosent crack or break being squeezed between my fingers.
