Hey I'm seeking some more experienced help. This is a Bloody skunk Auto close to 8 weeks. It's in 5 gallon FF ocean forest, has been watered with a rain/spring mixture PhD 6.0-6.5. Soil is at 6.3. I'm using Fox farm nutes until I get everything to go organic. I gave it a feeding this morning of Tiger bloom 1tsp/ gal. And molasses 1 tsp/ gallon. There was no purpling of the leaves before the feeding this morning and I noticed it tonight. The yellowing has been there for a little while. I need some help... manufacture says 8-10 weeks so could it just be finishing up? Or did i feed it too much and lock it out? I've used very little nutes. Soil pH is 6.3. Still new to the game and seeking advice!
Bloody skunk.........does it have some purple genetics in it?? I am guessing it does......which means, they are just taking on their color...
Yes it is a purple pheno. I've never grown anything purple before and wasnt sure if the leaves turned purple also
My NL hybrid turns in the last couple weeks also, plant goes from a vivid healthy green to pinks and purples in a couple days, similar to what your plant looks like. The yellow ass leaves are normal this late into flower. That's just the plant feeding off it self. Some say giving N during flower stops this but also I've found it makes it harsh. I cut out all N by week 3 of flower and hit the PK at max dose 2x then cut back until the last 2 weeks. Then it's just water every few days. I'll even let them sit dry a few days before harvest depending on timeframes.
So the leaves just all of a sudden turn purple? This just happened over the day and I haven't seen any signs of purple( on the leaves) until after feeding it today
Molasses? Why do you give your plant molasses? Man I love hilarious hippy stoner “science.” Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Basically lol. As the plant matures it produces anthocyanins(responsible for your purples)and starts eating up the reserves of nutrients it has stored up. As it does this it changes the color of the leaves. Molybdenum is another one that is responsible for those pretty reds and golds that you see on a lot of mature plants. There's a whole thread about color changes and which chemicals cause them somewhere on here..... I love it. Its like watching the leaves change in Autumn. Happy growing! They're looking good!
