Bloody Noses Linked With When I Smoke?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Vaked420, Jun 15, 2013.

  1. So I've always had a problem with gettin bloody noses. I would get one maybe once a month or more often. Then last may I started smoking and slowly I got more and more bloody noses until where I was vaping/smoking everyday around march. At this point I was having bloody noses at least every week. I just thought it was a coincidence, but then my mom caught me and I haven't smoked since then. Literally from the moment I stopped smoking I haven't had a bloody nose for 3 months...

It's so weird cause the bloody noses weren't even when I was high, it usually was when I wasn't high...I feel like its not really a coincidence anymore. So any ideas on what it could be?

  2. Allergies, unmentionable, picking your nose too hard, stress or anxiety?

  3. Cannabis dries out the nose and mouth. Since dry weather can set off nose bleeds, it seems likely that drying out your nasal passages could do the same thing!

Some people have gotten relief from frequent nose bleeds by taking bioflavonoids. Quite often they will be mixed in with the more expensive types of Vitamin "C"- it will be on the label. Check the local health food store!

  4. Could be the smoke irritating your nasal passages, or just drying them out.
Just a guess though, sounds annoying... I hope you figure it out :)

I do have this lubricating nasal gel you can buy at the drugstore, I use it all the time in the winter!

  5.
once again, granny beat me to it haha  :smoke:

  6. i get bloody noses when im smoking but only when i havnt drank water in a while so my advise is keep the liquid levels in your body high

  7. So would you say exhaling through your nose could also be it? And many people claim it gets you higher but only causes the drying out

  8.  Your nose and mouth are very closely connected, so some smoke would still probably travel through your nose.

I think it does actually get you higher, because of the blood vessels being so close to the surface in your nostrils, so it would make sense that some extra THC would be absorbed this way, kinda like people snorting unmentionables, except safer :p

  9. Thanks for the help everyone! I think granny's probably right about it drying out my nose because I usually get pretty strong cottonmouth and don't drink enough water haha

As for the smoke irritating my nose I don't think it's that cause I usually vaped.
