So I have a really nice seed I've been saving, and since this one was more than happy to germinate faster than any of the other bagseeds, I figured I should at least go through the motions with bagseed rather than messing up a good one. Background: Soil is MG Organic Choice, with 1:3 ratio Perlite. The plant is about 1 and a half weeks old, will be 2 weeks Friday, 4/11/08. The lights are 26w Daylights, and so far I've only been using 1, and it's been 24/0. I don't have a watering schedule, I just water when needed. I added a fan inside the room yesterday, it's currently on low, as the plant is still young. This fan will eventually be used as an exit fan with maybe a small carbon scrubber. I'm still debating whether or not 1 plant is even enough to need a scrubber. Anyways, here's the pics to catch up since I didn't start this earlier. And here's the latest, this was taken yesterday, Monday, April 9. Here is a pic showing the cup it's in -- a large 44 oz Styrofoam cup. The only reason I'm showing you this is because today (Tue 4/9) I checked, and there's already tips of roots coming out of the drain holes trying to find more soil. This leaves me in a small dilemma. People have said MG Organic choice is fine, but change it at the first transplant, cause when I start to use nutes it will burn them? My question becomes, I have no access to Fox Farm anything.... so I guess I'm gonna continue to use this MG Organic, and when it comes time for nutes, just dilute it more than normal. Any suggestions for the upcoming transplant would be appreciated.
when u need to transplant use some soil with NO NUTES if your not sure what kind to get ask someone at the store which has NO added nutes. mix that with perlite like you did before and you should be fine, take it easy on ferts during veg. it shouldnt need much if anything with whats in your soil already
Well the organic choice doesn't have nutes or anything, so I don't really see a need to buy more...? It just has organic stuff like worm castings etc...
and i dont think it has any worm castings. it is time released ferts too, meaning it will feed for only so long, you cant flush mg soil really so your final product will taste weird, it has a nutes in it to get you to flowering at the very most, during flowering its going to need a different nute formula when it enters that stage, i highly recomend changing soils
Alright thanks man. I'll Try to find some soil without nutes. My dad has MG Garden Soil for Flowers and Vegetables. I couldn't find anything like an NPK ratio or anything talking about nutes. It just talked about how it contains Sphagnum, petmoss, some manure, and some potash. Thoughts?
