I haven't seen a thread like this so i decided to make one, What jobs do y'all have? what are your career plans? Personally I'm thinking going to the local college for the electrical program
There's about a hundred threads on this, actually. But I'll bite again. I'm a landscaper. Grass is my business. I've been doing this for nearly two years now; I'm going to school to get my horticultural tickets, and I eventually plan on starting up my own landscaping (maintenance and design) business. I'm already a certified plumber. I also intend on rejoining the fire brigade, once I'm a more prepared to commit, on the auxiliary or volunteer force. Yup. Having goals. Feels good, mang.
Right now I make burritos and attend school. If the school thing doesn't work out I'll probably be a male stripper. That or a bartender at a gay strip club. I heard straight bartenders who work at gay strip clubs make pretty good money and I got a nice ass so who knows . kinda just playin life day by day right now
No job for now. Finishing up Uni... last semester this Fall... taking summer school right now. I've done a couple internships one at a Engineering firm the other at a law office. Those along with a high GPA I hope can get me a job, but I highly doubt it everyone I know having huge issues getting a job. Maybe I'll be lucky who knows. Major is Economics so looking for a job like a Financial Analyst entry level at any firm.
I work on mining trucks and boats and shit like that fabricating the pipes so they don't give off heat but I'm quitting in a couple of weeks as I've now saved up enough money. My future plans are basically trying to make it in the music business. I'm not getting another regular job again I've had my fair share and can now see them for what they are, I'd honestly rather die in a gutter than work the rest of my life. So death or musical success is basically where my life is gonna go, if it goes to death that will be fine because I'll make damn sure I had a fun time getting there.
I wish I could answer but it's so specialized I would be pinpointed very easily. It is pretty awesome and I get tons of cool perks, it's a dream job. Not MY dream job, because I want to win the lotto and move to the mountains and be a hermit and never work again, but it's a great job. I just wish I could kick this insomnia and depression to actually be able to keep my job. The boss is very forgiving, but you can't expect that to last for ever. On a side note, for people who grow full time, what do you tell people your job is?
I'm a help technician (IT) at my university. I help students and employees with computer issues; I can't say what I do because the problem could be anything; any computer, any software, any operating system. I don't handle hardware though. Can I just go on record though, that when it comes to computer troubleshooting, most people are idiots. The issue could be resolved simply by using either common sense or Googling the question and clicking on the first link that will probably give you a complete answer. I'm currently premed, most premed classes are completed except Orgo, and I intend to complete a major in Biology and move on to become a doctor. The aim is to be an ER Specialist, but that can change at any point.
I just finished up my second year of college. I am majoring in English/Writing and Rhetoric with a minor in English As A Second Language. After graduation I plan on going in for 16 more months to get my Masters of Teaching. I am about to take the Praxis 1 (first teacher qualification test) in a couple of weeks.
I'm a freelance graphic designer. That's kept me afloat through college, but now that I'm done i'm working on either going to work at a graphic design firm or a major defense contractor.
