BlackLight

  1. So I know that black, or ultraviolet lights, generally wont grow plants.
But what about a CFL blacklight such as this one?
It IS a florescent light. Therefore, there shouldn't be any problem with it, right?

  2. I would say no due to the incorrect spectrum.

  3. Hmm that's something I didn't consider.
    Can anyone else clarify?
Will the black spectrum of this cfl stop the light from growing the plants?
I'm planning on getting a normal cfl tomorrow. I was just curious =P

  4. On the other hand CaliCoast, if I'm not mistaken, I thought I heard somewhere that the only spectrum mj doesn't react to is the green spectrum. Am I mistaken?

  5. I read in my J. Cervantes book that a green light won't effect the photoperiod so you could use a green light if you had to work on something while the lights were out. So yeah I believe you are right. Just out of curiosity, what does the spectrum say for that black light?

  6. I'm not quite sure what you're asking, if you mean what spectrum does the black light produce, it's the ultra-violet spectrum.

  7. And herb needs blue (~6500k) and red (~2700k) to grow, which is outside of the ultra-violet spectrum. Black lights are the lose, next time use the search function.
