Blackish leaf tips

  1. Good afternoon,

Quick question...I am on Day 48 of flowering and a few lower leaves are experiancing blackening of the tips and leaf margins...I am pretty sure it is a P Deficiency. A few things...

I am growing Chocolope DNA strain at 48 days of flowering - 59" tall from bottom of container.
Soil - Organic with Vermucelite & Perlite
    Container - a bit small (3 Gallon)
Nutrients - FFBB 1.5 X recomended & Flora Nova in small quantities.
Water about every 3-4 days as the plant eats quick - I Believe due to the small container.
    No Nutrient Burn on plant

I have read that it's normal for some leaves to mature like this during flowering but to make sure it does not get out of control...

My questions are: Could I up the dose on the nutrients to conter this issue as I think the plant is not really getting what it needs due to the growing space? Should I purchase some super thrive? Do you have any other input or suggestions to my potential issue?

You are welcome to check out my grow on the Indoor Grow Journal...See link below. I will add some pics of the leaves if more appear as I cut the infected leaves off already (About 4).:smoking:

  2. What are your ppm's and Ph? If you have blackened leaf tips, I definitely wouldnt give it more nutrients, sisnce your already giving it 1.5 the dose. You could be rootbound. You could have root rot too. I would check that out before you give it more food.

  3. Thanks...Not sure on the PPM but PH is fine at 6.5 and remains steady...I read that it's natural for some of the leaves to have the P deficeincy during flowwering but not to let it get out of control..I just started the 1.5 dose once I noticed the blackish leaves...No other Nutrient dificiencies and the plant looks great. Also, the Chocolope strain is known to like a lot of nutrients...Again thanks for your response.;)

  4. Are the leaves black and dying like almost looks like mold? Or do they just have blackish/brownish spots on them? If you arent already using distilled water or Ro water try that too.
