BLACK WIDOW IN MY BATHROOM.

So like two nights ago I saw this spider in the gap between my counter and shower when I dropped my vitamin. It was just chilling there but instantly I noticed how it looked like a Black Widow. I ignored it and went on to pick up my vitamin and head to bed. I was lying in bed and I couldn't get my mind off the stupid spider. I was scared that it would sneak into my shower and bite me (I know,stupid, but I'm terrified of spiders and I have a big imaginagion). So I walk to my bathroom with my flashlight to get a better look. I shined my light on it to see it better, and, well, it had the little blood red hourglass under it. I didnt want to just guess it was a Widow so I looked up more information on it,like what it looks like, where it goes,and if they lived in Southern Illinois. I looked at it again and I can confirm that it was a Widow. It was definitely bigger than a quarter, chilling out in its web upside down at night (waiting for prey), and of course its physical appearance was of a Black Widow. I usually will kill spiders, but I always feel bad afterwards because I feel like they didn't do anything to deserve to die and stuff,so I wanted to catch it and let it go. But I was too scared to try to catch it and also it was in a hard area to get to with a container. I also heard if you make it mad that it will run at you so I was not taking any chances lol. So I just take a long fly swatted and slap that fucker. I felt bad of course,but I felt relieved that there was no longer a Black Widow chilling out near my shower. But I'm curious, have any of you guys ran into any venomous or crazy insect/animal?
