What the fuck is going on on this planet?! Why is the new York times refering to the 'mastermind' behind the WTC attack as 'Mr. bin Laden?' Why does Osama bin Laden give a shit about carbon emissions? I'm am perfectly content with saying I don't know anything anymore.
Conservatives are going to have a field day with this, that's for sure. Sounds so fake though, like he purposefully tried to associate the left with terrorism.
What about the whole... killing of innocents thing? His political aspirations aren't so heinous to me, just his method of ridding the occupiers. I find it ironic how he unwittingly supports our corporate state; first causing the Patriot Act and now supporting the AGW scam. It's not the first time "Bin Laden" has pandered to the US left.
The truth is spoken. He sounds like a nice guy, but his history and methods of murder make it a bit hard to take him seriously.
I don't really think Osama son of Laden is that preoccupied with environmental issues. But the environmental issue do fit rather well with his anti-western agenda. And he find willing allies in the leftists of this world. Nnnngh, I still feel bad using that label, leftist. I was one, or rather, is one. It is just, the left have abandoned my ideals of universal equality, justice and brotherhood, for an ideology of relative equality, justice and brotherhood. I know why, but that is a matter for another thread.
u have fucking problems "he sounds like a nice guy" he is a peice of shit that rapes kids a kills women and "his history" wut fucking history hes STILL KILL PEOPLE it will be history wen his head is no longer attached to his body
a "pretty cool guy" do u no wut he has done u need to be slaped across the face you have to be a dumb ass
Still, 9 years ago he was the worst guy on the planet, and now the New York Times is calling Osama bin Laden "Mr." Catch my vibe?
Aside from his religious agenda, bin laden's rhetoric strikes a chord with me. If he were attempting to resist US occupation without killing innocents he would find greater support. To demonize bin Laden for killing innocents, and not Bush or Obama, is hypocritical. I agree killing people is horrible, but who started the killing?
How else would he have been heard? Could any other type of action had an impact to get a serious message across? Would he have been simply drowned out by the constant politcal propaganda on the news? Personally, Bin Laden wouldn't have been able to drive his point across without doing what/is doing. I still want you to answer my questions, if you'd like. I'm here to have a discussion with ya, not argue.
I agree with you. If he wasn't blinded by religion and didn't go about his approach so violently, some of his ideas are actually pretty good ones.
He should have started with a coordinated peaceful boycott or hunger strike so that those opened to sympathy could actually hear their grievances. When there is violence and we are attacked people are much less likely to question the motive. After peace fails he could have resorted to high profile assassinations and targeting the international elite, those who have actually been ensuring a US foreign policy of interventionism for their own gain. Not that his plan won't work, which is to bankrupt our nation by exploiting our corrupt government's inability to turn down military conflicts... but he could have garnered international support from more than just anti-US fundamentalists.
That is an option, but how many countless peaceful boycotts and hunger strikes are held? Peaceful boycotts get handled by riot police. And all money donated to organizations and causes claiming to help the hungry are exploited. People are less likely to question motive, but maybe those acting don't have the time to do things by the book. Assassinating and targeting the intertnational elite is the best idea, imo. But, who are they? There are bigger people behind the big people, yakno? And what about the public? Society at large can't be held responsible for the type of injustice being perpetuated through out the world? I understand many are sheep, but not all of us. People cannot be led off the hook just because they trust everything being fed to them. International support from whom? Well, does it really matter? His plan will work, I agree.
It's not like there isn't a precedent in the world for peaceful resistance to violent rule... I don't see what's so cool about, you know, trying to impose Sharia law so women can be killed in the streets for the crime of being raped and gays can be lynched. moral relativism ftl. But really, isn't this guy dead already? This dude is more prolific than Tupac was. He has a new record out every other week.
Yea, I don't think they would succeed in eliminating what they're protesting, but the victimization by said riot police and such would lend a base layer of pity and understanding towards their struggle against our occupation. Don't you think someone as connected as bin Laden knows that answer? Even if he can't get to the biggest fish, terrorizing the elite is what they need to do. The public should be won over to support peaceful ends. All the anti-war people and those with compassion for humanity. It kind of matters if we elect anti-war representatives.
Educating, inspiring, evolving etc. through the barrel of a gun is an even bigger fail. That's what Benazir Bhutto said before she was assassinated, but what did she know? If the bin Laden that keeps appearing is fictitious then I bet he is not a US creation. After all, he keeps providing messages that run counter to the US government narrative, "they hate us for our freedom".
