Hello all. Been here long time but wasn't writing anything. Now i want to show you my big girls (at least for me) and get some advices. First of all my setup is: Tent: 5x5x7 Light: 1000w HPS Exhaust: 550 CFM Carbon: 680 CFM Intake: Passive but also running 200 CFM to aerate tray-lower pot level Pots: 20L fabrics Genetics: 3x Gorilla Glue #4 one of them is runt Medium: Soil Nutrients: Biocanna Rhizotonic, Vega, Flores, Boost, AN Sensi CalMag Current feeding: 1.8EC Water: Bottled (0.3EC) Schedule: 18/6 So we are in week 7. Topped once and LST'd. I have 5x5 tent and i tried to germinate 5x seeds but only 3 of them is germinated. They were old seeds (1 year old). First 4 weeks growth was very very slow. Then i ordered some more seeds (GDP) and wanted to add 4 more plants. So that was first mistake Because when seeds arrived, my current girls exploded. Now they are 40cm height and 50cm wide. Sorry for stripes on pictures. I took them when lights on Also don't care of bit droopy leaves. It was time for watering and soil was bone dry and pot was damn light without single drop of water. Also have 4 new germinated seeds that i want to keep 4 weeks veg with them but girls are being huge in week 7 and i can't imagine them at week 11 of veg. So i think i will flip before waiting for 4 week for new ones. What do you think about my girls? I have trellis net for flowering tho. I am between trim or not trim lower part of plant now. As we know grower world divided into two. Trim and don't ever trim peoples. But my 8" osciliating fan on setting 2 doesn't penetrate air through canopy and circulate air over soil. Anyway my soil is getting dry so fast because they are so thirsty lol. 7.5 liters of water with 1.5 liters of runoff every 3 days! Any comments are very well appreciated.
Yeah trim all the branches off the bottom that dont get much light . If your not sure then let them go. Take a mental picture of the branches that never produced larger buds. Next time you will know what branches that need to come off . They look great. Your next grow only if you want to save a few bucks on the ebill. You should veg with t5 lighting or newer led. Or cfl work very well for veg . Anything to save the cash .1000 watts over 18 hours that will make the grow no so much fun. Idk where your at most people here just buy there weed its cheaper lol. 50 a ounce . You electric bill may be well over the cost of what you could of just bought it. but your wont get the FUN factor .
Yeah actually i want to trim all lower buds and leaves that under few inches of trellis but which one is better? Doing at week before of flip or during first 2 weeks of flowering? Thanks btw
You need to trim in veg and flower. So trim in both. Actually two times in flower at times depending what strand im using . Ok Once that plant is at the height you want . Trim the lower branches ,, Then flower it to you see buds forming trim the bottoms again. The look at it in two more weeks to trim as needed. HPS will go about 8 to 10 inches deep when your plant is that compact . Get some bamboo poles spread out the branches in flower to allow the light to get deeper into the plant .
WHAT BUDS? At or about the flip there shouldn't be buds. I do it as I feel it needs doing both before & after the flip to "direct growth" along with lst, supercropping, scrogg. But yes trim/lollipop for less popcorn buds & larger big buds, if thats what u r into.
I mean buds in future lol. Yeah i want to do that. I want to trim anything under 8-10 inch trellis when i switch. But i thought i would be good to do before flipping and give extra few days to recover and then go for flowering. So no single stress during flowering. But doing it in veg and flowering is anohter idea and all suggest that i am seeing.
They must respect your authority & you must maintain strict discipline at ALL times. As you goosestep around the grow room. If a cola hopefully gets heavy it may need some xtra support, like a big boob.
I have trellis and 50 meters of cat cable to support no problem Day are growing so bad day by day. Really. My goal was 10 week veg. But i think i will give up at 8 weeks. Can't imagine them at week 10.
now is perfect time for a major defoliating and a lollipop then send them girls into flower with that light you should get about 20 0z
i want to go for 8 or 9 weeks (currently in 7). 10 is doable but a lot of effort and risking for mold and pests. 20 oz is not a big deal i want to go higher
The 8-10" under the trellis depends on where you put the trellis. Without going out & measuring??? around 3' for the first & another 16-18" for the second, on mine currently..
I take everything off below the top one or two bud sites 3 days before flipping. Here they are 3 weeks after flipping.
Wow. I can't sleep if i do that kind of defolation. I was just thinking about removing very lower branches and leaves that won't get much or any light. Now you show me anohter thing lol. Seed bank told me they stretch a little bit more than double in flowering. So let me take my tape measure and do some math
I have to pick on you to a degree. You set him up with huge hopes. 20 zips off the number of plants is for sure possible . But he is new and really does not have the room to pull 20 in a 5/5 area . You or i may do it not a rookie usually . I think her will get 9 ounces my guess and that will be a good harvest for him. Later he can do new things different size plants soo on pull more. I would hate to see him harvest and look back on this post and thing what he did incorrectly . If anybody is wondering (ZIP) zip lock baggy one .ounce. Dispo getto slang
WHAT THE HELL IS A ZIP? LOL A successful grow early on is a win in my book. Don't worry about how many zips right now IMO. Focus on quality, the wt will come.
I got 18 oz dry from 7x autos in same tent. One of them was runt. I always have one runt every run lol. Thats why i switch to photos. For better yield. I am expecting 1.5 lbs to 1.7 lbs. I am adding anohter 4 seeds now. They are week old. 3 weeks later i will switch to 12/12
I would pot the plants up in 40-50l pots and give the plants another 2-3 weeks in veg, 3 plants in 20ltr pots in a 5x5 You would be lucky to pull 12ozs.
You can get 20 o/z in a 5x5 tent easy, I have got 28+ o/z in a 5x5 tent with one plant and could of got more if I would of vegged for two extra weeks.
