Originally posted in the organic section (since using Miracle Grow's Organic Potting Soil/Blood/Bone Meals) but no reply's, so I'll try posting here since I STILL need help So I have 2 seedlings under two 65w 2700k CFL's. The seeds are germinated but not sprouted above the soil. The soil is Miracle Gro Organic Potting Soil. I also bought some Miracle Grow Blood Meal and Miracle Grow Bone Meal. Also have Vermiculite/Sulfur Dust/Lime if I need it. The seedlings are in Solo cups right now under the lights on an 18/6 lighting cycle. The lights are about a foot and a half above the soil. Two cups, two lights. A few questions I have (Yoda style) for you. They are: When I go to transfer the plant from cup to 8" (or should I invest in 10" pots) pots, should I add any vermiculite, blood or bone meal, or any other kind of additive to the soil? Also what should the ratio's be? Also, how far should the lights be from the plant? I also have a pH meter and it's saying that the pH is 7. I know that's a little too high so I'm going to try and locate somewhere in town who sells pH Down. Any help would be appreciated . Pictures coming soon.
from what ive read hereabouts u dont need your lights on until they actually break soil.once they do your gonna need more light(100w for the 1st plant,50 for each after) and they need to be about 2in above the tops.i used miracle grow organic and mixed in a regular size bag of perlite to make it a lil more airy.couldnt tell u about exact ratios tho.good luck w your grow and read all the stickies and other posts.youll find out things alot qwikkr
