    i use a crappy old wine opener, get the tip underneath the strip, pull like its a cork and the metal pops out without bending a thing on the lighter.

    i find flat head screw drivers work well shove it under from the side of the lighter and you can place your thumb on the safety and pull up and it comes out easy and your thumb prevents it from flying

    Whenever i see a bic child safety strip on the ground i always think there must be stoners around haha.
