1. Hey fellow blades. i Just got back from multnomah county jail in Portland. I started a thread about police state yesterday but this is to important to put there where you guys might not see it.

Yesterday around 3pm I was arrested for filming the police, who were in the middle of slamming college kids into a brick wall near the wells Fargo tower.

The cops came over to me while i was filming them with my iPhone, and asked what I was doing. I responded with practicing my 1st amendment rights.

The riot cops then grabbed my phone tossed it on the ground, stomped on it till it was a couple pieces and then pinned me to the ground with his night stick.

I was arrested for "disturbing the peace" which is bullshit I wasn't doing anything but filming. Now I am out of a 200 dollar phone and I have a record now. My grandpa bailed me out and could not believe that's why they arrested me.

While I was locked up I asked the Guard how this could have happened, what happened to my rights, and I received the SCARIEST possible answer.
He told me that Americans that are protesting actually don't have any rights. He told me Obama secretly suspended the rights of anyone protesting or if you are part of the 99 percent, or if you support to ron Paul.

America as we know it is over, I almost
Cried in jail thinking about this. Our nightmares are coming true, the American dream is over.

2. wow... just.... im speechless. let me think of something to say. that's total bullshit dude

3. If you had snuck another phone in your one hiding place you could've recorded his answer.

Sorry OP but it's hard for people to believe your story.

4. Well I sincerely doubt that the end of that thread happened...that a guard told you that

5. and then you walked of set and continued your normal life.

But seriously, do you really think thats possible? Or do you think the cop / guard was fucking with you?

6. So instead of contacting a lawyer, you came to gc?

7. Wow... I just dubbed the other thread and wondered what happened to you. This is absolutely wack.

8. It this your first time getting arrested? This news of the American Dream being over is kinda late. I've been arrested 6 times since 1993. It's pretty much routine. You should know that you don't have any rights to begin with.

The bill of rights is like a christmas card. It says alot of nice things, but it actually doesn't mean most of them, and you're supposed to just feel good when you read it, and then the next day you go back to reality.

9. I believe that a cop would tell him that, reagardless of whether it's true. Cops don't just enforce the law. They get off on bullying people and playing games.

10. Sue their fucking asses! Find a good lawyer and do it. Lodge a complaint with the police department make a huge stink. These fucking cops just paid for your new house.

11. yea, OP could try and get a lawyer...but with what proof? there is zero proof that he wasn't disturbing the peace. and zero proof he was... lose lose situation.

12. To all the people saying get a lawyer....have you ever tried to sue someone before?

What do you think would be the basis of his case? Do you honestly think that the outcome of any case would be in his favor?

I love the hope that you all have that there's a way to fight and make things right, but there's not.

13. the most OP can hope for is a new phone...

14.
So instead of contacting a lawyer, you came to gc?
I've been on the phone with lawyers all morning. And I have better things to do than make stuff up over the Internet.

It was a cop now that I think about it. It was like 4am when I asked him what was going on. For all I know he was fucking with me but who knows.

16. This is what you do you find other witnesses, and you try and get occupy wallstreet to pay for your lawyer. I bet you could get a shitload of people willing to say that they saw you just filming. There may even be other videos out there.

17. Sadly Mrgoodsmoke is right. This is exactly the government Thomas Jefferson was referring to when he quoted 2nd amendment rights. What I find amusing is how our government backed Egypt, Libya, and Syria opposition groups and the rights to protest but when it comes to our country it isn't allowed.

I've been on the phone all morning with lawyers, and they all said this would be a tough case to win but they would most likely settle out out of court. Had to borrow my roomates cell phone And I'm in gc with my old itouch I had to install gc on it.

Well I can't really afford a lawyer with how much they cost but I'm trying to get my parents to help with the costs.

Im still in shock about this whole thing, I don't see the purpose of going to work when This shit is happening.

19. I am so sorry man. There are three things you can do about that, one is try and get ows to pay, you can try and get a lawyer who will represent you pro bono, the last is you can try and set up a site for donations.

I dont know how to contact the other people they arrested along with me but
One of the lawyers said he could find them. I know the wells Fargo video cameras Caught the whole thing so I should have solid evidence.

Im assuming those tapes would be something a lawyer would get?
