Best/Worst Singer/Rapper?

Discussion in 'General' started by My Fax, Oct 15, 2007.

  1. Not necessarily in terms of music, but in terms of vocal coolness; who do you think has the best/worst voice?

For good singing, I'm gonna have to go with Steve Perry from Journey. Every note is so sustained in a perfect pitch. And he does it all with such ease too...

For worst, whoever the lead singer is of Rise Against. He's just terrible. Pretty much sounds like his vocal chords are gonna explode at any second.

Best rapper, I'm gonna say Chali 2na. His voice is so deep, and he raps in such a way the words like bounce around.

Worst, pretty much any artist of today's "Hottest Music". There's just no talent at all.

    How about you all?

  2. Where to begin...

    Worst:
    Jay Z
    Ja Rule
    Cameron
    Lil Wayne
    Field Mob
    Young Joc

Actually, I could just put my TV on BET or MTV, wathc it all day and write down pretty much every name that appears.

  3. Lol really? Ever heard of musical diversity? What do you have against rap? It's a legitimate form of musical expression.

  4. I like rap. I think Ja Rule sucks though. Best rapper would have to be Snoop or Dre. Beyonce has a really bomb voice, shes a badass, same with Jessica Simpson.

  5. Assumptions make an ass out of you.

    I love rap.

Let me rephrase that- I love good quality rap. Those that I listed, are not good quality, repetitive, shaky lyrics, weak beats, no real content or message (scuse me, the message is generally fuckin bitches, being hard, being gangsta, being better and richer than everyone else, and smokin tha bluntz of that 900 an O weed), and a horrible corruption of the english language.

I have something against rappers that have no talent, especially those that somehow become commercially succesful because of the morons and various deaf people that support them.

    I love good rap.

  6. I'm with Piper, There are a lot of talent-less individuals out there making bank off of materialism. I don't hate all rap and if i like the song, why not listen to it, just like weed. You like, you smoke, you don't, then dont.

My vote for best rapper is eminem but you have to listen to his music intead of his old famous songs because those are the materialistic queers that like up-beat tempo instead of beat up bitches tempo. haha happy smokin

  7. i should kill you for saying lil wayne is the worst...he'll proly kill you first bitch

Read the rules. This isn't tolerated here. This is the only warning. *RMJL

  8. seriously? have you heard reasonable doubt and/or the blueprint?

  9. oh shit dawg watch out weezy is gonna murder someone with his high pitched girly voice, RUN ***** RUN

  10. Oh, internet threats. You're a hard one. Reported for the banstick.

Garbage, just like everything else he's made. His flows suck, and his voice is really annoying. The one song I liked by him was 99 Problems.

  11. just wondering, what hiphop are you into?

  12. Best: Immortal Technique.

    Worst: Soulja boi.

  13. BIG (Your sig made him come to mind first), Tupac, Tech N9ne, Immortal Technique, Mac Dre, Ludacris, Eminem, Twista, Nimz, Lil Whyte/White/Wite/Wyte/Whatever, Bay Area music, even though I'm from the midwest.. Honestly, if it's got a good beat, the flow isn't horribly off, and the rapper/rappers don't constantly rap about one thing, I'll bump it.

    More for the shit list:

    Franchize Boys
    P Diddy/Puff Daddy/Diddy/Dicksucker
    J-Kwon

  14. I really like the singers voice of Leftover Crack. Its definitely a love/hate voice though.

    :hello:eric:hello:

  15. best sounding voices

    people under the stairs
    weezy
amanda wilson (does vocals for Freemasons, and other house music tracks)
just jack (UK hip hop artist)
slug & ant (guys from Atmosphere)

    most annoying

    yung joc
    emo band singers
death metal guys where you cant even understand what they're saying, all constant screaming

  16. I say this in every thread, Z-Ro is without a doubt one of the best, most underrated rappers. Here's a few songs by him:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ji1EDCmrKw8
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKMwGrFMI98
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X-JKgXKt_U

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo_CoeziApY
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY438mgi3Vk (chopped n screwed)

I could go on and on...For real if you haven't heard him check out those videos, he's one of the realest rappers alive.

  17. i agree with you on ja, cam, weezy, field mob, and joc, but to say that isnt a talented lyricist is just plain wrong. i highly suggest you go listen to reasonable doubt again.

  18. Lol. Commercial songs have the best beats out, that's why they sell. If some of the "real" rappers had better beats/production they would do a lot better commercially.

I'm not making an ass out of myself. I didn't even say something negative about you, and I kind of had a feeling you liked rap and had an agenda with commercial rap. You see, it's rather typical to take the stance you take against commercial rap on internet message boards. For some reason, message boards seem to be more populated with people who like under ground rap and hate commercial rap.
    It's nothing new.

Btw "horrible corruption of the english language" - ebonics is viewed as a perfectly legitimate form of speech by anthropologists.

  19. Idk, I have an entire ImmTech CD and its one subject the entire CD: fuck the govt, let me spew some crazy facts at you.

    Twista? ...Twista!?
