what I will flower in: 9lx7hx6w tent that has 2 x 400 hps air cooled mother tent with 250w mh Basically I'm having trouble planning a good configuration out with what I have that will give me a perpetual setup. My idea is cutting clones and sticking them in the flower tent as soon as they root and do this either every week or 2 weeks (as I will have about 3 mothers going). I would prefer to use totes but I read it's not wise to put plants in the some container unless they finish at the same time; so that shoots my idea down for adding to the tote each week rite? anyway I can use buckets if needed, but still would like some ideas on a perpetual dwc setup. Specifically, how many clones per every week(s) to add to what containers. I usually go from seed but am tired of spending money on them if I can just get some good mothers going. Many thanks to those who help!
well I don't do dwc I do coco but I started by putting 6 plants into flower ever two weeks and it worked pretty good until I fell behind on clones. I don't flower my clones right away either I let them veg as long as I can the bigger my plants are the more yield I get so those little punny things don't work for me. so I'm back on track kinda I more then doubled the amount going in to 16 I don't think I'll be able to put in every 2 weeks maybe every 3 or 4. don't fall behind it sucks playing catch up, keep cutting clones
if you figure out the total amount you can flower at once i'd divide that by roughly 8 weeks then that answer would be the amount to put into flower/ and harvest each week
So you don't think that because they will be different sizes/stages that I could theoretically have more than normal under the lights? Otherwise it would seem pointless to go perpetual and not just all at once. My current thoughts are going totes, 3 girls to a tote and 2 totes under each hps. this equals 4 totes and would be every 2 weeks to give 8 weeks of flowering as I will veg the clones for a bit in the mother tent. Is 8 weeks too ambitious?
So I was wondering if anyone could weigh in and tell me what they think about using 2 400 watt hps with 6 plants under each one? Or just weighin on or add to my above idea for a perpetual dwc grow.
I've heard that plants absorb almost all of the light from a 400 compared to a 600 or thouy which the plants can only absorb a certain percentage. can't remember where I heard it thou.
I just stumbled upon this, and I'm curious as to how much room you have, or how many rooms. I have a perpetual set-up with two closet grows and a tent, which is three rooms but yea.
I wish I could help but I simply try to start a new tote of 3 before what I have finishes providing I have the space and light. I use a separate tent for veg and then just stick em in the flower tent. If what is in there is not quite done, I'll just put em off to the side a bit and still let the light concentrate on what was there first. I get some leggier girls that way, but I have tons of headroom so I really don't mind. Everything fills in so that is the important part. I'm still very new and keep upgrading continuously (over 3k now) so my plans are constantly changing and have not yet developed a consistent "cycle". Like I said above, I just always try to make sure I got something in the hopper so I am never 16 weeks in between. However I plan on eventually getting another room (mother/veg/flower), and enough lights to start a new batch every month. On a side note: the CAP OZN jr KICKS ASS!!! I had pretty noticeable smell even with a tall boy that was brand new and hooked properly etc etc. I honestly think 2 filters would still not completely take care of the smell. Anyway smell is GONE! I had air fresheners I was using to mask the odor and the ionizer even eliminates MY AIR FRESHENERS lol!
just keep the mother in the veg room with the clones on the floor and get bigger then a 250watt and run 24 hours. i would say fuck the tent and use the whole room if you can, and have the other room for flower, i have nine under a 1000 hps and there lovin it
