Hey everyone. I was wondering what's your preferred source of "good carbs". And by that I mean slow burning carbs that don't spike your insulin and keep you full longer. Usually, I have 100% whole wheat bread or brown rice with kidney beans. Any suggestions?
Oatmeal is no good it's a grain. The best sources of carbs I'd say comes from sweet potatoes and yams. Tubers had been a very important part of our ancestors diets for thousands and thousands and thousands of years. We as humans are well adapted to them and also sweet potatoes have a bunch of vitamins and minerals. They're also freaking delicious which doesn't hurt as well.
im eating some raw beetroot right now it has a low glycemic index and even stabilizes blood sugar and id say its a nice carb source?
Oh thanks!! I had totally forgotten about sweet potatoes, which IMO taste better than regular potatoes and are much more healthier. Sweet potatoes have more fiber, more nutrients, and will not spike your insuline. I just bought a bag of pre-cut sweet potato "fries". I brush a bit of olive oil on them and bake them.
Sweet potatoes and yams are fucking sooooo good, but I would definitely have to say fruit is the best source of carbs 110%.
Whole grain rice/breads/etc, fruits (preferably ones with more fiber like berries or bananas and whatnot, they're slower carb fruits), potatoes (sweet are good ;d), corn, beans (they're a protein and whatnot i think but i'm more used to seeing them as carbs since that's what they're loaded with more) more fiber in something = slowed down carb release and also adding some fat to a meal (if you dont got any or much in there already) ive heard can make carbs release slower
Crabs provide fuel to body for physical activity and proper organ function, hot cereals, whole grain bread, try brown rice, Bulgar, wheat berries, and whole wheat pasta are some good and delicious sources of Crabs.
Grains contain phytates. They're similar to gluten in that they can cause a leaky gut but they also impair your body's absorption of nutrients.
