I preparing to do my first stealth box Scrog grow. To make the whole experience of growing worth it for me, I'm not going cheap on my seeds. I want the best of the best shit. In the end I want to keep 5-6 ''mum'' in my cabinet, but for now I think I'll start off with 3. I know I definitely want a Kali Mist just for it's nice trippy high. I need advice on a good Indica plant, something to just knock me off my ass. My third plant should be something mellow, kinda in between. Like this should be something that I could smoke everyday and be cool. Not a hard hitting Indica that I can't get off my ass, but not a completely racey Sativa. You know, just something I can chill on after a hard day of work. Finally, keep in prospective that I need to Scrog grow all of this indoors and in a box. I should have about 4-5 feet in height. This will in apartment and odor is just a little bit of an issue (I know I have a carbon scrubber and ozone, but I'm still a paranoid motherfucker). This is also my first grow so I don't want anything too tricky. Thanks for any advice offered!
I know you may not want to hear this but its MHO! If this is your first grow then start with a cheaper but still decent quality seed like from Nirvana. Believe me, your gonna make mistakes and its easier to justify when you only spent $12 for 10 seeds as apposed to $4-500!! I make damn good money myself man so I understand the "money no object thing", but I also understand not wasting! Just my thought though. If you decide otherwise maybe keep a journal so we can see how you are doing and help you out! Good luck.
well the kali mist i had wasn't trippy at all like the thai i started out on. it was pure bliss and endless energy. i WANTED to kick back and trip out on tunes like i used to on thai, but it wouldn't let me sit still. it was a high more like the time i had some shrooms. i think you might find that if you smoke KM, you'll want to start building a space shuttle in your back yard. LOL look into cinderella 99. it's generally called trippy (i've never flowered my C99 splash yet) and with it's floral odor and pineapple flavor, it sounds much more refined than it's super silver haze & jack herer siblings. if difficult sativas aren't discouraging to you... look into arjan's hazes. they're slowly getting awards and recognition. so far, they're sounding even better than neville's haze which was the strain with the second highest number of top 10 list votes a couple years ago. haze would be my 1st choice were it not for the immense size and long flowering time. if you wan't the "best strain ever" maybe get some blueberry. that strain makes more top 10 lists than anything. then there's another award winner, bubblegum which is often described as euphoric and i've heard of some sativa leaning phenos in it and read once that the two bred as bubbleberry is even better than it's parents. that would be a nice mellow high. along similar lines, i've heard that burmaberry is a nice moderately sativa high with a peachy flavor. it was one of an experienced grower's top favorites. i've heard alot of nice things about mother's finest too. you might want to research that one as well. definately check my "best strains according to everyone" thread out. i've compiled all the best unbiased resources for learning about strains and their quality. unless an individual shares the exact same tastes as you, a group consensus might be more helpful.
This is an awesome post! I especially like the paragraph about the blueberry and bubble gum. I dont know if you noticed my other thread about my next seed purchases but those two are my top choices. Now you went and added bubbleberry to that list! Who sells it?
For your first grow go with seeds that are resonably priced since you will make mistakes. I would Recomend Any of Mandala's Strains. I just grew the Speed Queen and they turned out decent even after I messed em up more than once. But the seeds only cost $20 something. thier Satori looks awsome and they have a new strain coming out this spring. good genetics at a decent price. Thier hashberry was a top10 in High times. peace wwonka
i agree with the nirvana seeds post above. good lights and fans are a great investment that u cant go wrong with. Seeds tho, are often wasted, growing is hard... takes practice, time, and good ole tlc. Make a test run out of cheaper seeds, or even bagseed. I spent some time on Dr.chronic while high as shit, reading all the descriptions of the seeds from each breeder... my top 10 if i could order em all and grow them all. 1. Lieu Hanh 99, a vietnamese/nevills haze crossed with c99... 2. Hindu Kush... kush says it all. 3. Kali Mist... 4. G13 x Buddahs sister... again G13 says it all... cant go wrong with any g13 5. G13 x White Widdow 6. Bob Marleys Best 7. Super Silver Haze 8. Nevills Haze... #8 because of the 14 week flowering time 9. NYC Sour Diesel... Smell when growing brings it down to 9... and what would I knock down? 10. Hollands Hope or AK-47 to get back to basics... Also if you can find anything out about bubbleberry seeds ive heard rave reviews, even tho im far from getting myself a taste...
I like the description of the cinnamon on Doc's site its breeder is female.seeds.nl, also the grapefruit sounds good as well.
Northern Lights is (almost) pure indica if i remember correctly so that should def. put you on your ass. But ive recently smoked some indica dominant Master Kush and that shit KNOCKS YOU OUT. 2 bowls to the dome and you wont be able/want to move.
not quite... cinnamon girl is actually a jack herer pheno, but JH, super silver haze, cinderella 99 & apollo 11 are all related. SSH & JH have the exact same genetics in fact, but in a different breeding order to emphasize a preferable mother pheno. SSH is supposed to be the better of the two. grapefruit IS another related C99 X 100% sativa too i like the descriptions for C99 best though as SSH can get quite skunky and JH isn't probably that far behind whereas C99 is potent and trippy, but has a stealthy floral odor and an interesting pineapple flavor. someone mentioned lien huanh 99, but i went with C99 splash which is that strain backcrossed to C99 a few generations because doc was out of pure C99 and C99 splash was the next best thing. C99 haze is probably pretty close to the lien huanh version too. i'd just like to try the original to start with. C99 has been used in ALOT of high grade crosses. A11 for example is C99 X with an indica dominant hybrid from what i read somewhere. DON'T trust every pedigree you read though. i've read more than one that totally contradicts another one i read somewhere else. if i were going for a G13 cross, it would absolutely have to be G13 haze, but good luck trying to find it except in a cross with something else. haze is what i'd most like to grow really, but it's just to unwieldy for indoor grows. i'm giving haze skunk a try though. it would absolutely have to be trippier than totally indicalike sk #1, but alot more compact than pure haze. it's won an award or two under the super haze name. 50% haze with a 75% sativa that grows like an indica sounds great to me. kali mist is a totally distinctive sativa dominant though. it has a delicious spicy red pepper flavor as well as a paranoia free energetic high. i can't wait to see what happens when i pollinate KM with a C99 splash male! as awesome as KM is, why doesn't anyone ever breed with it? i'm thinking that euphoric KM will take some edge off of C99 paranoia but gain some trippiness and that C99 will bring KM flowering time down and that pineapple & red pepper might make for an awesome flavor i'd call curry. i'd be totally surprised if those 2 strains couldn't produce something amazing.
im prolly wrong cause im kinda new at this, but ive done a bit of reading and what i remember is that Jack Herer was originally a C99 pheno crossed with an very indica dominant male? And then cinnamon girl was Herer crossed with someting else after they stabilized it?? Then again i might be wrong... But, Pokernaut ill have to let you know how the lieu hanh 99 comes out, i should be getting some in the near future, along with some of the spice bros, giant cindy .
Ive got some Lieu Hanh 99 from Spice Bros on the way too. Also a Nigerian/C99 cross, but im growin the Lieu Hanh out first. What else is going in there, i havent decided on yet. But i want a relatively strong indica dom for right before bed too, I might grow the Cindy Princess beside it, thats a White Widow and C99 mix. Might just be mellow enough for sleepytime. Or maybe just Ice, i have some feminized seeds of those. That would be good so i dont have to waste space sexing indica dom plants. But this LH99 sounds like its gonna be really good. What kinda lighting regimen are you gonna use on it silence? Hope you keep a journal, i plan to. BTW, anybody have any idea on the genetics or history of C99?
no... jack herer has 0% c99 in it! from what i remember, both jack herer and super silver haze are both haze, northern lights & skunk #1 (i'm not 100% sure about the sk1 though) then C99 is a variation of that crossed with ice princess (whatever that is made of) C99 is related to jack, but not it's mother. from what i read, she DID sire apollo 11 though. (c99 X genius i think) but good luck finding info on genius either. you can't ever take ANYTHING your read anywhere regarding breeding lines as 100% gospel anyways. i've seen half a dozen pedigrees that totally contradict previous ones i'd read before so SOMEONE has to either be mistaken or lying. lien huanh really DOES sound freakin' awesome and i DID have my eye on lien huanh 99, but i wanted to try original C99 (or as close as i could get to it) instead to start as she sounds jmore than good enough to me as/is. quick flowering trippy strain with a mild floral odor and pineapple flavor? how awesome is that? apollo 11 is very similar, but is more euphoric and less trippy (and i think has a bit more indica) so i went with (lien huanh X A11g) X A11g as the "genius pheno" of apollo 11 is supposed to be the real sativa treat and with 25% lien huanh in the mix... it sounds awesome but indoor practical. if i ever thought i'd ever really try it, i'd definately get some pure lien huanh, but it sounds as indoor fussy as haze does. i'd REALLY like to try breeding a better version of skunk #1. i bet (troublemaker X lien huanh) X malawi gold (or burmese) would be even better than SK1 with it[s 100% mexican sativa genetics. i think lien huanh & malawi gold both have to be trippier than either columbian gold or panama red. add yet another trippy IBL sativa (maybe burmese again or kerala) and i think you'd get something better than super haze (aka haze skunk).
The people at Serious Seeds have better control over their genetics I grow Kali Mist and have seen my friend grow AK47 & Chronic, that they have also. Serious doesnt try to grow every friggin cross that someone else has. Well thats just my thoughts!
