The Canibus vs. LL Cool J beef was the best imo. Canibus was the underdog and completely came out on top, regardless of what the media says. Check out the songs:

I heard a weird Nas diss beat today. Check it.

  6. Yeah I've heard that one. I think this was supposed to be a subliminal Jay Z diss by saying he's so mainstream ("Sisqo fag").

This song is The Ripper Strikes Back

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBYJ0QhIPEw"]YouTube - LL Cool J: Ripper Strikes Back (Canibus Diss)[/ame]

There was a diss to Canibus within the song 4,3,2,1 also, a song that featured both Canibus and LL. In the original version Canibus says, "Is that a mic on your arm? lemme borrow that", and LL took offense to this and made a diss to Canibus within a song that features him. That part of Canibus' verse was changed, but LL's was untouched. Couldn't find the song on youtube though.

"I told you to leave it alone, but you were too stubborn
now you in the world where the hunter becomes the hunted
Your wife is scared cause she don't wanna lose her husband
and somebody keeps paging you putting 4,3,2,1 in"

it used to be on youtube damnit! it was the first canibus i ever heard and it blew my mind. im pissed its not on anymore...

  10. Yo, I got the song on itunes. I'll try and put it on youtube

  11. you talking about 4321 or canibus' original verse on it?

  12. I got both, seperate songs though. One is just Canibus' verse with the mic on the arm thing, and the other is the official 4,3,2,1. Theres nothing different in the verses except at the beginning of the unedited one, canibus just says "L, is that a mic on your arm? lemme borrow that"

  13. Wow thats a tough one because there are a lot of good beefs which spawned a lot of great songs.

I do like Ether a lot and Nas DEFINITELY won that beef, its stupid that Jay-Z is regarded as better because Nas beats him hands down. Ether is great because Nas calls Jay-Z gay in pretty much every way possible and pointed out the fact that he looks like a camel:p

Then there are the funny beefs like Ice-T/Everyone with common sense vs. Soulja Boy. It's great that OG's like Ice-T, Snoop Dogg, and Method Man are bashing that stupid ringtone rapper. I still laugh when I hear Ice-T diss him:hello:

I always liked "No Vaseline". Ice Cube is brutal and only he would start a beef with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR of the baddest rappers there ever were and he took them on all by himself. The song was so bad it was banned in the UK, lol, Ice Cube is a true legend.

I also liked 50/Eminem/Dre/Busta Rhymes beef with Ja Rule and Murder Inc. It spawned quite a few good songs and some of the best rappers of their time completely annihilated Ja Rule and Irv Gotti to the point where nobody would buy their music after they realized that Ja Rule sucks 'Pacs asshole. I still never understood why Busta chose to diss Ja Rule but who cares, right?

But the East vs. West Coast was by far the largest and my personal favorite beef. There is just so much to it and its a very intricate and complex beef. It should have really only been Tupac vs. Biggie but Pac was a symbol of the West Side and Biggie of the East so their entire coasts backed them in this. Huge beef which could only end with the death of one or both of the beefers. I found it amusing how Pac would diss these nobodies like LL Cool J, Nas, and Jay-Z and years later they would be the MC's running the game. But then Tupac went crazy and dissed Dre and I wondered why it was that he had so many friends and he lost them all. Maybe it was because of his song "Fuck Friendz" (NOTE: at the beginnign of Ether when you hear "Fuck Jay-Z" that's Tupac speaking and its from "Fuck Friendz"). Just a thought. Either way the beef spawned some great songs, including my personal favorite diss track (next to Ether) Hit 'Em Up. I love it because its brutal and the first lyric is "I aint got no muthafuckin friends, that's why I fucked your bitch you fat muthafucka" followed by 'Pac yelling "West Side". Lol, I love it! First time I heard that intro I knew the song would be amazing and it was!

I have a funny story about diss tracks actually. It was actually diss tracks which first got me interested in rap. Well, actually the first rap song I liked was "Last Call" by Outkast then I heard "Ether" followed by "Hit 'Em Up" That's when I started liking rap and from there I just found more and more songs. So its funny, diss tracks got me into rap:D

Oh, I almost forgot. It's also worth noting a diss even funnier than the Ice-T/Soulja Boy conflict. It wasn't a beef and even the diss track was a joke but it's still hilarious. The songs not on an album, just some random underground thing I found. Basically it's Eminem pretending to be Osama Bin Laden (he even uses the accent) and he then proceeds to diss Dr. Dre as Osama Bin Laden for about 2:30 minutes. Werid song. Funny song. Definetely worth checking out and I still have no idea what prompted Eminem to do this song.

  15. Where'd you get the idea that these dudes were nobodies? These guys (Jay and Nas) were huge when they came out, especially Nas.

  16. What do you guys think of this one? Its a diss against Eminem by a dude named Evidence, once part of an underground group called The Weathermen.
