its goanna sound weird at first since you are a metal head but listen to some John Legend and the Roots Wake Up album.. its groovy as hell or check out some Queens of the stone age and I Mother Earth

 

I'm a metal head too, and what makes metal even better when high is metal with awesome bass and obscure or very creative lyrics.

So Iron Maiden is great, and I the album Peace Sells... by Megadeth is really great, I love that jazzy fusion they had on that album (Megadeth is awesome in general though).

Demons and Wizards is good too (especially their self titled first album)

I can't thibk of the exact genre name (I think it's power metal) but that european folkish metal sounds really awesome as well when high, check out Blind Guardian maybe.

Black Majesty has some cool songs too, I just found out about them recently, they're kind of an underground thing.

Idk what kind of metal you listen to, I don't listen to like any screamo/death metal so if that's your thing I can't help.

Oh and maybe some Dio and Black Sabbath.

edit: Just noticed you meant other genres than metal too, I kind of like listening to jazz so if you think you can get into that some maybe some Abraham Laboriel or Miles Davis? Lol I think old school country (none of that modern day pop with a drawl crap) is fun ocassionally especially because it will be pretty funny at times. Hank Williams Jr. is great, other than him I don't know a lot of country artists I like a lot.

Death - Human and Individual Thought Pattens Album. When you hear DiGiorgio's bass lines you'll be amazed. That guy's a beast, probably the number one bassist in metal in general. As said, Megadeth is awesome ofcourse (all their material). Other, I like listening to old school west coast rap.. Ice Cube, Eazy E dat shit.. Real good

Has to be rap, not just any rap though.

I like to listen to lyrically amazing songs while high. You can understand to
subtleties in the lyrics more clearly and it's just a great experience.

 

I love to listen to rap from guys like Substantial, ShingO2, Nujabes. Stuff like that is really chill IMO

 

Some kid cudi , smoke dza, j dilla, flying lo, shigeto, depends what typa mood I'm in really but music it's self when it's good feels like an energy
