Hello fellow blades, My grow box is 15"Lx12"Wx27"H,will a twisted CFL bulb that is 2700k,23watts(100 watt replacement),and 1600 lumens be sufficient?I am planning to grow 4-6 plants.I heard that in the vegetative state you want 6000k,and 2700k for the flowering but all I have are these 2700k bulbs. So will 2 2700k bulbs be enough(can get more)? What are the downsides to using to less on the kelvin scale? Is it *completely neccessary* to buy 6000k bulbs? tl;dr Starting from seed, will the 2700k lights suffice? On a side note, very low on money, what can I use as a reflective surface for the inside of the box that is cheap? Sorry if the title is misleading, decided I wanted to change the question after I already created it.
Almost any light source can be used to grow, it all comes down to the end result. Poor lighting equals poor results. Superior lighting can equal superior results. For CFLs the basic rule of thumb people seem to follow on here is 100(real)watts per plant. But if you have 4-6 plants all next to each other you don't need 400-600 watts as the plants will share the lighting. So if you are using 23w cfls you need 4 for the first plant then 2-3 more for each plant beyond the first. Just use white paint for the interior walls
