Best/favorite mycorrhizae, what do you notice it does?

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by hellotangerinesky, Jan 10, 2021.

  1. So I haven’t ever used mycorrhizae, but I’m going to pick some up for the next time I have to order a few things. I’ve done a ton of research, but was just curious to hear your opinions on if it really makes a massive difference or if it’s just a beneficial thing, and your favorite brands.

  2. Elite 91 Myco Jordan. Use it as a slurry dunk. It’s expensive but I have yet to find a better product. We use it in my commercial grow. Game changer.

  3. I use half dose of great white and half dose of recharge! Whenever I transplant I can’t believe how many roots there is

  4. That is an interesting idea. I’m a big Recharge fan. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of doing that lol

  5. helps improve communication with the micro heard amongst others,

easier to make ur own if you have any citrus trees about ..

noobs won't notice any difference for about 10? grows as its slight

    good luck

  6. I use once on transplant, noticed roots 5 feet away from the trunk one time when I dug in the garden, hit roots and I thought WTH from where?

FYI the bags say to use throughout the grow, this is a marketing gimmick. Once the Mykos is there, it's there to stay, like the elves.

  8. Thanks! Yes I understand what “they” say it does, whenever they is lol. I was curious if you guys noticed a difference, from what I’ve heard mostly more roots, I’m interested if anyone’s ever run plants with v without with the other variables all beigg by the same and noticed a difference in plant health/size/yield etc. because of the roots. Interesting idea I think lol. How would you go about making your own?

  10. before you go to bed to night cover a pot of soil dampen first..then light proof for 2-7 days return and see the white 'fuzz' on the top ..thats M_Fungi(mycorrhizae) if you have no fuzz.. please apply the commercial concotion

I follow Lowenfell's by dumping my used soils under a lemon tree,
cover with old carpet and let my Fuzz grow...and remember to turnover every 3? months
in spring and fall I remove half to my compost bin, where it still grows ..but not so much

    cheers

  11. IMO its a waste of money on anything but outdoors. The whole point of mycorrhizal fungus is that it can reach further and into places that the plant roots cant, effectively extending the reach of the plant roots. This is great for a plant grown outdoors in the ground but has little benefit when used in a container which the plant will have filled with roots anyway.
The second reason is that mycorrhizal fungus takes a long time to develop its network of hyphae (fungus roots), which is typically longer than it takes to grow a cannabis plant. It might have some merit growing long flowering sativa, but if you are growing short or medium flowering plants there really is no way for it to develop fast enough.

  12. The white fuzz you see on top of soil, or in compost or even if you dug into the ground and saw fungus, is NOT mycorrhizal fungus. Despite what some youtube videos would have you believe.

thank you for your input: indeed mycorrhizal fungus should not to be confused with White Fungus (Sclerotium rolfsii) rofl

  15. Have you heard about the mushroom that walked into a bar?
"We don't server your kind here" said the bartender to the mushroom.
    "But why? I'm a fun-guy!"
