Besides a vape, what's the healthiest way to light up?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by leo7, Apr 10, 2007.

  1. Matches, lighters, everything has chemicals. I want to be more mindful about this since i attend to the herb often.
    Thanks!
    :smoke:

  2. yeah eating it is the best way, thats because theres no tar. hash oil works too but it contains alcohol.

  3. yeah hash is good, not all hash has alcohol. and its alot different of a smoke, its smoother i think ,and tastier

  4. thc drops... I don't know if it is the exact same thing as hash oil.

Anyone know if there are different kinds of lighters that don't give off the lighter fluid chemical? The mechanical sparker used in laboratories comes to mind...

Maybe you can light some type of harmless organic stick with a candle flame and light your bowl with it or light your joint with a candle flame.

Or you can shell out $300 and make a heatgun vape and be worry free.

Also there is a supplement called N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine and it is supposed to loosen up the mucus in your lungs. Also it is a precursor to Glutathione, which is an antioxidant common in the lung tissue that protects against cannabinoid damage. There are some articles on pubmed.com or just search on avantlabs.com in the forum.

Maybe I'll start a topic on what every smoker should take one day..

  5. magnifying glass + the sun= solar bowling

  6. in the meantime, do you think matches are better than a lighter? paper or wood? which will influence the taste the least i wonder?
for the cooks, your current favorite recipe?
    thank you so much.

  7. hell yeah forgot about those... but do you need a large one or is a small one chill for the job?

  8. phedor is suppose to be the answer to smoking with out lighter matches. It is some type of vap style heater.

Just check the recipe section but make canabutter 1st. then bake.

  9. IMO, the Hakko or Phedor is the healthiest lighter alternative.

I have used my Hakko every day since I bought it....if it broke, I'd go out and buy a new one same day.

It's actually a soldering iron and you have to unscrew a metal sleeve and take it off to use it(very easy to do, takes 2-3 seconds)....but the metal sleeve can be put back on when your done to protect the ceramic element from damage.

The taste is so much better without the lighter.

  10. Have you tried knife hits? they work really well, the taste from taking a knife hit is amazing, not harsh whatsoever.. but anyways, just heat two knives on a stove and when they get red, touch a lil ball of weed and press them together and suck through half a bottle or something of that sort.

  11. there's to much going on when knife hitting IMO, and i don't feel like blacking out into the stove :(

  12. these are really great ideas. i think this is just what i was looking for. thanks!
your favorite simple but sweet! cannabis recipe?

  13. "there's to much going on when knife hitting IMO, and i don't feel like blacking out into the stove "

Yeah, i know where you are coming from, but if you've smoked for awhile, that will not happen.. I usually only do it when i have chronic. I get the most mileage outa my pot.. haha and the thing that scares me with knife hits, is getting a HOT knife agaisnt my skin :x

  14. Plus rep of course, but where do you get this lighter? (If you'd call it a lighter)

  15. if ur gona smoke the healthiest way is a vape, but if u dont have one use a piece that causes the smoke to travel thru water. water filters it somewat...so a bong, bubbler, water pipe, hookah, etc... but VAPES are gangster as fu*k :smoking:

  16. anyone have a model number of that hakko piece?

also.. it looks like you're touching it to the bud?

last related question; does it not work with the metal surrounding piece?

  17. Looks to me like a regular soldering iron, unless I'm missing something. There are much better soldering irons that can be used as lighters nowadays. I personally have never used this as a lighter, but here's the link to a nice cordless one for $30, almost impossible to burn yourself with, too. http://www.coldheat.com/pro.cfm.

  18. I'd like a second opinion on that coldheat soldering iron... I like how the hakko has a ceramic heating element but I think it is too large and it's not really portable

Are there any other portable ones?

Edit/// I checked the phedor but it is $150 bucks and you still have to plug it in. Not an option :(
