My first couple outdoor grows I topped my plants to keep them under the fence. Now I use low stress bending and caging. A plant that could be 6 ft tall is only 3 when you train it down. If you don't want to cage them you can also tie the colas loosely to each other. No particular pattern. Just make sure they're all connected. If wind comes up you have more dexterity and support from other colas and not as much sagging.
Try using bamboo stakes and pulling those girls open when they get bushy. It really lets the air and light flow through the plants and allows support for each heavy cola. My cannabis hedge from last year. Battled bud rot at the end and lost about half pound to it. I’m in a Northern, non legal state, grow season is short and risky, so I went inside but miss the trees. Good luck man
Old photos from a few weeks back. That's one of many different methods I employ. I like caging them because you can loosely tie them and work them through the holes easily. Plant does most of the work. I'm using rope to pull 2 plants at tension till the main stem is almost parallel with the ground. There's gotta be dozens of stems coming up to 4ft tall. I cut all the branches pointing downward off. Like a screen of green effect now. I'm gonna be pulling those tall branches down over time as well or tying them up.
Thsts the American dream. White picket fence with a crap ton of chronic growing behind. God bless America!! Eagleyedye
These are photos from today. They have been blowing up. I am working branches through holes at a 3 or 4 a week pace. Just trying to keep the middle open like a bald spot. Trying to get those fat bottomed girls.
