  1. Im going to this concert this upcoming friday. I dont know if any of yall like this kind of music but im fucking excited! We're planning on smoking an 1/8 or so between two people. I should be pretty high.

  2. lucky dog. i wish i was seeing them. where are they playing?

i saw bela fleck play with keller williams, now that was nuts.

  3. it is not a real concert unless victor wooten is there, and maybe future man

  4. Yeah, i've seen Bela many times. The group with victor is cool, but when i saw him with stanley clark and jon luke ponty, i was stunned. Have fun at the concert, just make sure to be sober enough to know whats going on.

  5. I just saw Bela Fleck last Friday! I was baked out of my mind on a firecracker, it was awesome. Get ready for a great time.

  6. They're playing at Regency in Cary, NC.

  7. Maybe to you bro, but not everyone has the same taste. Although, victa is doing his FUNK festival about 30 minutes from my house so I'll get to see him, Umphrey's with Joshua Redman, and a few other artists I'd like to check out for $50/3 day festival. Should be a sick time. Yea Captain, I would be pumped as well. UM and bisco double bill earlier this year was sick as well.

  8. Joshua Redman is fucking sick. He's my second favorite contemporary sax player, after Chris Potter and before Eric Alexander.

  9. Yeah I saw both of them on saturday, great show.

  10. Awesome. Friday is taking forever to get here. Not only is this a great concert but believe it or not, its going to be my first. :hello::hello::hello::smoking:

  11. Wow, someone who knows there shit. Josh and Chris Potter are both amazing. The Chris Potter underground group is amazing and Josh's elastic band blows my minds. (Brian Blade is my favorite drummer around)

I'm glad someone else around here has some good taste! :D

  12. About two weeks ago, I saw Chris Potter play with Dave Holland's quintet for FREE in NYC. Check out this video I took of his solo:

The Underground is one of my favorite groups...I love Adam Rogers' guitar playing. Nate Smith is a fucking SICK drummer; he also plays for Dave Holland.

  13. saw em at bonnaroo!! awesome

  14. Hey thanks for the link! Yeah Dave Holland is the man. I thought that Billy Kilson played drums in that group, but i could be wrong.

+rep for the video and for having good taste in music!

  15. He might have in the past...but Nate Smith is in the current group...along with Chris Potter, Robin Eubanks, and a vibes player who I forgot the name of.

Have you ever heard Joshua Redman's "Spirt of the Moment: Live at the Village Vanguard"? His version of St. Thomas is amazing. I will never get over that intro to the song.

  16. I think the vibes player is Steve Nelson.

Yeah I have that CD. That intro is crazy. Josh went to the same high school i went to, before i did, and I chat with him when i see him on the street. He's a cool guy.

  17. Umphrey's has some crazy jams, but they're lacking soul. I love them to death though.

  18. I'd imagine he is. I want to see him badly. In September, I'm seeing McCoy Tyner with Pharaoh Sanders, and in November I'm seeing the Chick Corea Elektric Band feat. Victor Wooten on bass. I can't wait.

  19. The concert was ridiculous!!!!! Highlight of the night: Umphrey's McGee ANDDDDD Bela Fleck playing Stomping Grounds. It was unbelievable.

  20. You lucky bastard...they didn't play any classics when I saw them :( . Glad the show was sweet though.
