Back in January I sorta blabbed to this kid that I wanted to grow and thought it would be fun. I talked to him about it for like 10 minutes talking about stuff only someone who did their research would know. Fast forward to may I'm starting my grow, he randomly makes this comment in a group of friends when I pissed him off. "This dumbass wants to grow weed." Noone really achknowledged it at all, maybe 2 even heard. Am I being paranoid of my door being kicked down? I have been careful in every other single aspect and made a stupid mistake before I realized how much security meant. Its not like I'm selling or having house parties every weekend so it shouldn't be too big of a concern right?
Oh and one more detail, this kid is a piece of shit who backstabs everyone when they're not around. And he doesn't do drugs, just alchol.
He doesn't do drugs, just alcohol? Last time I checked, alcohol is a drug also just like THC; however alcohol is many times worse for your body than THC is. Does he know that you are really growing weed, or does he think that you want to? The way you stated it, you mentioned that you want to grow. I guess I don't know how important it would be with this guy since you can want to do a lot of things but it doesn't mean that you are going to do all of them. Maybe half of his friends which heard it want to grow also so maybe they don't even care.
Why would you blab to someone that you wanted to grow weed? First mistake. If the kid is a loudmouth, he could potentially go to the cops, his parents, or whoever else he tells could do the same. 1 person tells 10 people, those 10 people each tell 10 people, etc. I don't understand your reference to "starting your grow in May". If you started in May, you would have either harvested now, or are about to harvest. "wanting to grow weed" isn't illegal.
If you want to fix it, just wait until your talking to him next and tell him a complete lie about your grow, you could say you found this place in a forest in the middle of nowhere that you r going to grow in, or that you tried growing and fucked up and gave up. Just tell him something that will make him think that your no longer doing it in your house, and I think you'll be fine.
