We're about to turn on our 1000w for our 8 clones that are 6-8 inches tall, there currently on 2 florescents. How far should the plants be away from the 1000w lamp? Keep in mind the lamp gives off a lot of heat, we do have a A/C, and the room is 7x4 inches, 28 sq inches. We're trying to avoid burning the ladies. Thanks for your time!
Get a thermometer, stick it at canopy line, adjust light height till you find the right distance to get a nice 75.
Clones can be killed by too much light. Ensure they have rooted and are forming new growth Then you can give them strong light Use the backside of your hand on the canopy. If the hand feels too hot its too close. Get an air-cooled hood and you can put the light right on your plants
7x4 inches... you mean ft I assume? I'd start it off 3ft away minimum and bring it closer if they can handle it. I'd assume they are rooted if they are 6-8" tall.
