alright so i decided to grow a couple of plants and one of them is extremely small at the base of the plant and is falling over. So i have put a fork up by it and used it as a support for it but now it doesnt seem to be thickening at the bottom, so what should i do? thank you
What light(s) are you using? how far away are your light(s) set and are your other babies far more superior than this one? Have you got a fan stimulating slight wind in your area to thicken up your stems and to increase stabillity and strength?
i do have a fan but i dont run it 24/7 and i am using a 2x65w grow lights and its a little behind the other because this one was attacked by a cat but that is not why the stem is small.
I suggest light cycle 18/6, lowering the lights as close as possible (chek with the back of your hand if its not uncomfortable for you your plants will be ok) this is to stop any strecthing. I would also suggest adding an oscialating fan or some form of air circulation to help produce the strength of the stem.
i am doing what you said but the problem is were it is bent it is like it wont grow there and the stem is at least 3x smaller there then at the top so i cant pull the fork off of it because it cant support itself, what should i do to help the stem grow? or should i fill it with dirt past that area.
erm yes you could try that and hope for the best i think it would start picking up if you did that, i have never had this problem myself nor have i ever known anyone with this problem so i don't really have much knowledge to share. I guess the only thing you can do is try... also germ another seed and ditch this seedling if things don't improve.
