Begginer grower, no clue what I'm doing.

  1. OK me and my neighbor are starting our first grow of ten plants, which all my friends say is a bit much for my first grow but whatever. It's an outdooer grow and I have not the slightest clue what I'm doing, so I need a brief walkthrough from someone who's had a successful outdoor grow before. I already germed five seeds and planted them last night, but after it sprouts I'm lost. How do I transplant the sprout to the ground and when? What's all this Ph nonsense? How much light should it be getting? Etc. Just gimme anything that NEEDS to be done to have a successful grow. Thanks

  2. Wow!! slow down dude.. Go get Cannabis grow bible by Greg Green and read it..you will be glad you did.

    Good luck..

  3. Well I can't really buy anything cuz I live at home and I don't have anyone to ship it to.

  4. drtask, I've been searching, for about 2 weeks now and some of this stuff isn't making any sense to me and I can't quite piece it all together, so I made this thread. All I want are the basic things to have a good grow.

  5. absolute basics, are soil, water, seeds, and light. your plants should get atleast 4 hours of direct light a day. try to avoid temps below 70 and above 100. also depending on where you live its a little late to be starting out doors, we have a saying in california, knee high by july. but basicly it only needs to be like 12" high to get it flower. basicly since its your first grow, just water them every 2-3 days unless needed sooner, and just watch what happens to them, and come back if you have problems. i mean theres alot more to it, but just keep it simple this time and see how it goes

  6. and slow down on how many plants. three max for your first grow. ten is gonna be a job for you to handle, especially without any understanding or very little.

  7. yeah that what I was about to say July is to late to start germinating its best to do that in the biginning of may to get the most out your outdoor plants and for shit being shipped to your house just get a P.O Box thats what I did

  8. its way to late to start an outdoor grow u gotta do an indoor

  9. Its far too late to start growing outdoors and you dont seem like the brightest pea in the pod if you can figure out the basics of growing cannabis..

  10. hey dude there no point for name calling people learn at different levels shit im on my 4 try for my first grow the thing is to learn from your mistakes trust me I had plenty from dag germing tecqniques to death by lack of vortex to the recent moving dilemma just keep trying and never give up

  11. F***ing lame excuse. Means I can´t really be f***ing bothered.

  12. im confused about your post:smoking:

  13. Well I figure I live 10 miles south of New Orleans, great soil, it's about 75-80 degrees, only gets as cold as 50 degrees in the winter, freezes once every blue moon (last one was in the early 90s).

I got a great spot picked out: great location, lots of sunlight, good soil, secluded. I figure since it grows in summertime and it flowers when it has less sunlight (fall-winter) it seems like an alright time to grow, being our winters aren't harsh at all. So if I grow now all the plants are going to die or something?

  14. But wouldn't starting off with 10 get you on track sooner, cuz if more than half of em die you'll be there to witness what happened firsthand (not advice on the internet-- often it's just too abstract for something that requires a sort of "green thumb") and know what makes em grow, what doesn't, etc, and be ready for nex time.

edit: It also ensures that you'll wind up with at least SOME buds, while if you planted only 3 they could easily all die.

  15. robbie d., Exactly what I was thinking, thank you. I figure if I plant ten, there's the chance of some dying and some being male so I'll have more in the end.

  16. Update:
I just checked the pots and I already have a sprout :D I also planted the last two seeds. I have a question, I didn't cover the pots with a baggie cuz I didn't have anything to cover them with and they were pretty dry so I sprayed a little water on them with a spray bottle, is that ok? And the sprout, at it's current location, isn't getting much light (around two hours probably) so will it be ok?

  17. ok, well the reason its too late is because the days are getting shorter, so the plants wont get as much light to begin with, and 2 hours isnt enough. your better off buyin some cheap cfls and trying to grow. but its worth a shot just try to put them somewhere where theyll get more light. atleast 4 hours direct sunlight a day. and about spraying them. just make sure no chemicals were in the bottle.

  18. firebird, Sun rises at 6:30 AM and doesn't set til 7:30 PM, I'm gonna move the pots to the real spot late tonight. The spot is awesome, gets a lot of sun especially in the morning (which I read is better), perfect soil, close to home, and they'll be pretty safe from bad weather/douchebags or cops. The bottle was brand new and had bottled water in it.

I don't really care if I get a good harvest or any harvest at all, it's fun to do and at least I'll have some experience when I start another one next spring.

  19. So, they'll be only getting 13 hours of light, they need 18 until flowering.
