  1. And here's a survivor:

  2. what evils we have wrought

  3. No. What evils THEY have brought.

(They meaning the men behind the curtain. I'm not referring to the Japaneses, that would be fucked up.)

  4. The Japs should have thought about the possible nuke consequences before they bombed Pearl.

  5. J. Robert Oppenheimer, after viewing the blast of the first nuke, said, "I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds," to which Kenneth Bainbridge replied, "Now we are all sons of bitches."

I think that speaks for itself.

  6. i remember watching a documentary on hbo about the damage done by the nuclear bombs. they had a clip from like a year after dropping the bombs and it was the pilots who dropped the bombs meeting survivors. the pilots looked like they would have rather died in hiroshima than have to go through what they have to go through. all in all very sad shit, hopefully we the past never repeats itself.

  7. Pearl Harbor was an attack on a U.S. Naval Base, which killed a total of 2,345 American military and 57 civilians. The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed as many as 220,000 Japanese civilians immediately, and thousands more from injuries and illness. Not a very appropriate response in my opinion... it's a sad thing that the United States has to take the burden of carrying out the only nuclear attacks in the history of warfare.

  8. If memory serves me correctly, the Japanese were unaware of Nuclear power, let alone nuclear bombs. So to say they should have thought about something that was completely unfathomable, is a bit an ignoramus.

  9. Not like it matters now, but FDR could've prevented Pearl Harbor from happening. The reason he allowed the incident to happen was because he would be able to have propaganda backing to support our joining of WWII. This shit goes so deep.

  10. Very true... FDR was dying for a reason to get us involved in WWII. Then after being briefed about the Manhattan Project, Truman used Pearl Harbor as a reason to use the atomic bomb and show off our power.

  11. I'm holding back my anger but you should be careful with that word Jap. I'm Japanese American, my grandfather and his brother battled the Nazis in Europe for the US while their families were interned in relocation camps, and some of my distant relatives were killed in Hiroshima. Please refrain from using that slur please cause my family faced massive amounts of racism and prejudice just because they were of the same ethnic origin as the "enemy".

Edit: For those who want a little more insight into the Pearl Harbor incident read Day of Deceit.

  12. What if America didnt drop it and the war went on longer and more people ultimately died?

im not condoning it, infact im against nukes completely as a weapon, but Japan did surrender pretty promptly after. It brought a quick and clumsy solution to a problem; America all over..

edit: also what are your views on America having so many nukes, and having nuked a country themselves, and then telling another country they cant have nukes? bit hypocritical?

  13. That's war....and those are the consuequences of war. Tell the fuckin Japs not to bomb us again and they won't find another nuke in their asshole.
Also if I ever got to the position of that person Blutteufel posted a pic of...I would not want to live. I would have someone kill me or find a way to die....it's just not worth living like that

  14. "Pearl Harbor was an attack on a U.S. Naval Base, which killed a total of 2,345 American military and 57 civilians. The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed as many as 220,000 Japanese civilians immediately, and thousands more from injuries and illness. "

57 civilians for 220,000, thats not exactly an eye for an eye lol

  15. It made them surrender did it not?

    Also gratz on 666 posts

  16. The nukes prevented us from having to invade japan, which would have cost a LOT more lives than what our bombs did.

  17. I just think there were many other reasonable alternatives.... like attacking their military bases instead of just killing innocent civilians. They only killed 57 of our civilians and didn't attack any cities.... basically they were just trying to take out our Pacific Fleet. In return we killed over 200,000 of their civilians and literally destroyed two major cities. Not a justified reaction in my opinion.

  18. I was gonna say something about his loose use of the word "Jap" but I think you did a good job of expressing my views, as a jewish born German mix.

So guy, use at least a little bit of curtesy and political correctness.

P.S. I know i am not the most politically correct person ever but, hey.

  19. A lot of historians agree that Japan had already lost the war by June of 1945. They had lost nearly their whole navy, their air force was demolished, factories were virtually 100% destroyed or unable to operate, all raw materials were gone and the US had air superiority over Japan raining bombs and fire bombs at will.
