  1. couldn't think of anywhere else to ask this, so why not the home of altered-state forums,

smoking's always been my thing, never drank very much, i have tasted about three brands of beers in the past, dos equis, asahi, and budweiser. my question: i loved the taste of dos equis and asahi, is there a special type of beer category that these two fit under, such as lager or ale or something, i want to find other brands that have the similar taste, thanks

  2. :) Only in the first few beers is where the taste counts. Haha I love the taste of all beer! so I have no beer preference but I enjoy light (yes im a poooosy) cause its so much less filling

  3. I haven't heard of those two- but I would strongly recomend Long Trail and Magic Hat, their the best!! Both made in Vermont, which of course is one of the reasons I love them, but their also really good!! Hopefully you're somewhere in the New England area so you can buy it...

  4. Hmm. My alltime favorite beer is Guiness Draught. Give it a try, tastes nothing like the beers you mentioned but its extremely good.

  5. corona is one of the best tasting beers around, if you havent tryed it you should try it will probbly like it.

  6. i've tried corona, forgot about it, didn't compare to dos equis

  7. Hmmmmm gotta think back...I've had dos equis before...I think it's lager...though a bit mild...quite good...

  8. hmmm There are two main types of beer: ale and lager. "Ales are fermented with yeasts that rise to the top as a foaming head. The yeast used in the lager recipe works at a cooler temperature and sinks to the bottom, so you lose the head." Each brand pretty much covers each type of beer. Look on the Dos Equis bottle you like, it will say lager, ale, light, yadda yadda. Then I'd pick up any other Import that is the same. Try them all out. But if you like the Mexican beers (dos equis), you should also try Corona Light. --You are an Import guy. The shit beer of America isn't going to do it for you. Def look for beer brewed outside of the US.

Also a very interesting beer is Heffevisen. I do not like the taste of beer but I can drink Heffevisen.

  9. Lmao...is that what you call Hefeweizen over there? Good one...

It's beer made with wheat instead of malt...

  10. lol Yes that is what I call it. I'm sure I butchered the spelling. And it has a lot of pulp like textures floating in it. I really like that.

  11. Yup , that's the one..I'm not too fond of it...think it's brother Kristallweizen's a bit better...bit clearer and lighter...

  12. thanks

  13. You are very welcome. I was talking to the hubby about Mexican Beers last night. His favorite is Dos Equis, but he was thinking you might like Negro Modelo as well. It is a bit more full bodied than Dos Equis, but very smooth (quoting my husband on that).

  14. I think the taste of beers like Dos Equis, Corona, etc. is actually very similar to that generic Australian beer Fosters. Try it. It's my favorite.

  15. if you like that shit then you should try Stone Ale. that is some hardcore BEER!
my brother-in-law has the whole collection of 40oz bottles. there's like 10 different kinds

  16. my favorite is miller, but since money doesnt grow on trees, natural light( AKA piss water with alchohol) has been by my side for awhile

  17. make mine a Grolsch, or after that i'd choose Carling. mmm beer. :D

  18. its not necessary to look for imports to get "good tasting beer" throughout the US there are micro brewerys all over the place that make every kind of beer.... you can even make your own beer!! really you should try it... a few years ago my dad made some chocolate lager that smelt and tasted sooooo good! and its so much cheaper that way... if i remember right he made like a quarter keg of it... he got the glass bottles with the tops and shit... it was pretty cool

  19. Negro Modello is a pretty good beer, but I have a penchant for those fresh microbrews. :)
