Becoming a Professor is definitely the longest job application ever.

    I think associate professors earn more than $33,000? That's less than a post-doc salary even in the most competitive schools (who can get away with paying so little). Also, a lot of researchers will earn from grants on top of their base salary, and outside consulting etc. as has been alluded to here by others. If you've risen to the ranks of associate professor and you're only pulling in $33,000 per annum, you're doing something wrong.
     
    Oh yeah, and half of $99,000 is $49,500, not $33,000. I think it's safe to say that becoming a professor probably isn't the best career path for you.

    But the concepts of trajectory momentum can be applied to behavioral finance, although the main difference being inertia.
