Be sure to keep your clippings.....

  1. I was trying to find a good place to post this little guide, and I figured here as just as good as anywhere....I just harvested my WW crop, and I was left with a decent amount of trich covered leaves, and small buds from the lower branches. After a quick search around the City, I found a good video on hash making, and decided to give it a go......
First off I took my pile of clippings and ran it through a silk screen. You can get these babies online from T-Shirt making websites for pretty cheap. I got one with a very fine mesh so I'd only be left with the good stuff.
Just sit there and move around all the vegatative matter over the screen for a few minutes, and watch the powder form on the other side. You'll know when all the trichomes have fallen through, because the leaves and such will lose there stickiness after a while.
After that discard the clippings, and use a card to scrape all the residue that fell through the screen together. Make sure you scrape the underside of the screen, because a decent amount will stick to it.
Now take your pile and put it into a celophane (sp?), and tape it with some scotch tape. then take the celophane packet, and wrap with a piece of newspaper, and apply more tape to hold that together.
Run the newspaper covered packet under water for a second, and put it into a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. When you take it out put it in the refridgerator under something flat and heavy so it presses together as it cools.
Then remove the pack from the fridge, and take off the newspaper, and celophane (sp?), and enjoy!! It's real easy and really worth it, so hopefully someone will stumble across this just as they are wrapping up there grow.
Happy Growing to all, and to all a good day!
    :D

  2. I like doing ISO hash its a lot easier and less time consuming.

  3. that's a nice looking chunk there, fatbob. I'm going to try the ISO as well, but I've read the dry sieve is the best.

  4. I tried that method before, but I've modified it a bit for convenience. I don't use the oven anymore though, I just use a hot iron. I also use parchment paper rather than cello and tape.

As for dry seive being the best, I'm not sure that it is. Bubblehash is the method to use for the purest product. ISO is pretty pure too, I just don't like to use toxic chemicals (benzene, n-hexane). Food grade alcohols are ok to for tinctures though.
