Bass guitar...

  1. I wanted to start playing bass guitar...and I need to know which brand is the best?? Any fellow bass players out there that wanna help

  2. Well there is no 'best' brand, it's just a matter of preference. My personal favorite is Warwick, but get ready to spend a fortune to buy one. They ain't cheap. If you want something that's good and is in the lower price range I would go with an Ibanez soundgear series bass. I have one and it sounds excellent, and was quite cheap also.

  3. it all depends on price range. i dont play bass, but ik all about that shit cause im a guitar player. i would spend about 400 on a fender jazz bass, but thats just my preference

  4. just got pick up a squire and some relatively thin strings. thats a real good start. upgrade when u feel u got skillz.

    ;)

  5. I like the Fender Jazz Bass

  6. I second the Ibanez sound gear recommendation.

  7. I third the Ibanez unless you got a couple grand to play with then its Tobias all the way.I play a 4string growler with a 3 piece ash body through a Behringer 4x10.

  8. just go to samash or some music store and fuck around a lil bit. find one that you like that is in your price range, and buy it (not necessarily from there)

Ibanez is a solid choice, id prolly stray from squire tho, likewise i know a few kids who all started on Rogue basses and they were terrible

Id prolly recommend an ESP B-50 or the 154 (i think those are correct #s) for a solid starter

also you may want to check out ebay or local stores for very nice used basses, maybe get a $250 - 300 dollar bass in very good condition for the same price as a new but lesser quality instrument.

  9. pick up a warwick, they have really nice basses but are on the pricey side even though they are worth every cent. get a fretless warwick their awsome lol

  10. as someone has already said, the Fender Jazz Bass is a great all-around bass. mid-range price for a solid, highly playable axe. also the best looking, in my opinion. next to a rickenbacker, but they cost over a grand.

  11. if youre willing to spend money get a warwick or maybe a ricken backer theyre real good if you want good and cheaper go with ibanez.

  12. Again, price range is very important.
I thought of another very good option if you have a mid-high budget (prolly ~$400), much like how Fender sells Squier products...
warwich manufactures their "knockoff" Rockbass basses.
played them 2x and was very impressed, def consider them too

  13. squire is cheap and well made. durable and good for most types of music. most people are telling u to get pro equipment. id get a cheapo and then if u see u got a talent invest in urself.

might even try just pickin up an acoustic guitar gettin good and then bass isnt hard at all. almost the same. plus u already got calices from the acoustic. and its good to hav that variety in my opionon.

anyways good luck bro. hope u find some equipment that makes u feel like a god.

  14. That's a great bass. My friend who's an amazing bass player uses one as his backup bass and it kicks ass. He got it for like $350 used.

  15. I have a Ibanez Soundgear SR300DX cost $200 and sounds great, as well as having a built in active pre-amp

  16. Start with a decent Ibanez.... then upgrade

thats what i'm doing, i'm buying a fender jazz this summer

  17. I like Spector, Schecter, and Fender basses.

  18. Ibanez makes some good started basses. Id go with them. Right now im playing a 5 string spector.

  19. You can't beat the thundering tone of a 70's Rickenbacker 4001.
