so after school today nobody was home so i decided to pack a bowl and smoke in my room. little did i know that my brother was gonna be home sooner than he normally is, so later after i smoked i went to check my room and it didnt smell or anything so i shut the window and turned the fan off and he comes home and starts to claim the house smelled like bud and that he was gonna tell my parents. i just said 'ok whatever do whatever your gonna do, i dont care" (i still cant believe he ratted on me). so when my parents got home they gave me a long talk about how pot is bad and how i shouldnt use it etc. they asked me all the standard questions (do you have any, a bowl etc) and i just said i had a oney and gave it to my dad. he wants to know where i stand on the usage of marijuana. he wanted me to think about about what i believe. so i'm thinkin on saying that i am not against it and why should it matter as long as my grades are good. anything else i should add? anybodys input will help :)

EDIT: Im a senior in highschool. i turned 18 in november. and they say as long as i live under their house, i live by their rules.

  2. I don't mean to be a Nagging Nancy, but you have to be 18 to post on these forums. I enjoy your presence, just letting you know. Your post sounds like you are under the age of 18, not trying to make any erroneous accusations, just stating the rules/giving out a fair warning.

  3. Even though you do sound like you are under the age of 18 I will still give you some advice because I know we've all been there. When you tell your parents where you stand on usage, just tell them the truth, that you are not against it and you enjoy the effects, BUT tell them that you will respect their rules. You should respect their rules, why risk a functional family over some bud? Smoke when you move out.

  4. Your brother is an ass.

  5. Why did you smoke in your house when you didn't know exactly when your parents will be home? Not too smart...

Also I wouldn't tell your parents that you smoke weed because you "like the effects" this could make you look like a crackhead to your parents. IMO it's better to tell them that you use Marijuana because it's better physically for you than alcohol or cigarettes.

Go virginia tech massacre on their ass's, leave no survivors.

    Whoa, seriously? -Durchii

  7. Another situation that could have been completly avoided if someone just smoked outside instead.

  8. Have a family movie night and watch The Union, if that doesn't work your family needs help.

  9. thats how i convinced my mom, even though she really didnt care in the first place

  10. Or it will make him look like an over the top stoner who's obsessed with marijuana to the point where he has managed to persuade his parents to watch a documentary on the benefits of cannabis.

  11. If your parents weren't to angry its very possible that your parents smoked bally at one point. When I got caught by my dad i found out tht he smoked since he was my age and he hooked me up with some of the best bally i ever smoked. Also how old is your brother just wondering.

  12. Yay! To your brother:D

  13. I have asked them both before this happened and my mom said shes never tried it and my dad said he tried and he never got an effect out of it so he never got into it. and my bro is 19, he does not smoke weed, hes one of those people who automatically dont talk to someone cause they affiliate themselves with people who smoke weed.

  14. just tell them the facts.

tell them you don't do it in situations where you could get in legal trouble.

tell them the benefits, but don't act like a fiend.

like you said, their house, their rules. if they're against it. don't do it at home.

  15. That sucks man. Your pops is right though, you should follow their rules because they're paying the rent/mortgage. If I were you I'd wait until you move out to go back to your old ways or atleast smoke at a friends house and not come home until you're sober. Your little brother sounds like a little asshole. Me and my brother are extremely close and although he's kind of neutral towards weed, hes known I smoked since I started and kept his mouth shut through the good and the bad. He's only 13 too, love the dude.

  16. Your brother really is a bitch, no offense.

  17. i respect their rules and i probably will not smoke under their roof again.
No dude its my OLDER brother that ratted, hes 19. i also have a younger brother who is 15, Im really close with him and i blaze with him occasionally

  18. how much older is your brother who ratted?

  19. Damn, he sounds like a real douche bag then.

  20. First thing is first, this is your family so get a mine detector. You don't want to step on something and have it blow up on you. That said, take it slow and obey what they say - You'll have to smoke outside the house, time to adventure.

    OR
Still give it some time but in a week or so, do the same dealy.. maybe see if you can set up the same scenario again.
It's best to work with your brother, otherwise why use the word?

    Finally,
    Your parents.
You cannot trick them. Give that up.
They will respect your maturity in the situation and it's important to know your state's laws on the matter.
Dont get all activist on them.
Dont bring it up at every opportunity.
