Hello Grasscity community! First time grower. Go easy on me. Here's a link of my first thread which has images of my box. Growing under 2ft of space. Growbox Issues: Pre Planting Stage I have just started germinating some bag-seeds for testing/trial and error and have: 6x Gods Gift seeds still untouched & waiting in line just in case I mess it up haha. I was just wondering since weed is still weed, it must grow no matter what soil you put it in (as long as you maintain it well) right? You see, I have no access to soil mixes such as Foxfarm and what not. They are inexistent and I would have to pay loads of cash if I order it online. That's out of the question (for now) I have yet to check my local hardware store if they have some basic potting soil mixes, but other than that, I am at a halt. What are the ESSENTIAL components to a decent soil from SEED to HARVEST? Something low maintenance that I don't have to always replace and check-up often. I reckon Cocoir with some perlite is fine? Are soil-less mixes better? I am clueless with soil. Please shed some light for beginners who share the same problem. Thank you so much in advance for all your efforts. Yeah, it'll grow in anything. You could pour sand and cow shit into a bucket and the weed will grow. Wouldn't taste to good though, lol.
So it is true! Guess I just have to see what they got in my local depot and hope they have enough choices. Thanks for the frank advice Bunks haha. Wish me luck! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
What ever you get, just be sure to include Perlite. Its light, airy, allows the roots to grow deep with ease basically prevents the soil from compacting. If you local hardware store has Seedling start, just buy that and be done with it. I've grown decent plants from the stuff from start to finish. Its comprised of light soils and a shit ton of perlite. Good luck.
Any idea what this thing is? I know it's definitely not soil, but any uses for my grow? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
