a lot of band are amazing but not well known so this is just a thread to support bands that must be heard.
Thievery Corporation - listen to any five songs by them and you will find something you like...very chill nice beats great basslines...two DJs with a live band STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9) - Get the album "Artifact" and listen straight through, or at least through the first 4 songs (through 'Tokyo)..similar feel to T.C. but more electronic, also features a live band Herbie Hancock - the album Man Child for starters, or Head Hunters....recommended tracks are Watermelon Man, Traitor, Hang Up Your Hang Ups, Sun Touch, and Bubbles DJ Shadow - the album Live! In Tune and On Time...just an amazing set, great to chill to and party to or anything The Mars Volta - exclusively their album De-Loused in the Comatorium...if you haven't heard this (straight through) you are really missing out on a brilliant piece of work...if you haven't heard it and have heard the Mars Volta, rest assured that you have NOT heard the Mars Volta in their prime, because this was it...better than anything live or anything - De-Loused, studio album - Masterpiece, I promise you (really need to listen straight through) Bassnectar - another DJ, recommended tracks are Laughter Crescendo, Bursting, Verbing the Noun, Stomp, Carried Away, Impossible and Overwhelming Broken Social Scene - 'Feel Good Lost' - great album to fall asleep to or to wake up to...very chill Daft Punk - Alive 2007 - if you're into electronic stuff this is a must have - opening track is great, awesome build up into hard beat... Robot Rock/Oh Yeah (first track)...try to find that and then you'll want to hear more Rx Bandits - great band altogether, check out Nothing Sacred, Gun in Your Hand, and Taking Chase as the Serpent Slithers Coheed and Cambria - once you get used to the voice this band is one of a kind (in a good way)...musicianship is unmatched by 95% of music out there...recommended tracks are In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, Time Consumer, Everything Evil, No World for Tomorrow, Neverender, Devil in Jersey City, The Hound of Blood and Rank, Feathers, Welcome Home, Delirium Trigger, and 33......it should be noted that the band's music and lyrics are based entirely off of a graphic novel that the lead of the band, Claudio, created - an epic fantasy story....whether or not you get into the lyrics and story, it cant be denied that the music this guy writes is one of a kind...one of those where you can really feel the artist putting himself into his music thats all for now, but if you haven't heard it, Red Hot Chili Peppers - Time
im going to check verything out Thievery Corporation im listning to lebanes blonde haha i smoked that and dude it doesnt even smell like hash but its prtty good mute math is awesome.
