Band of Brothers appreciation thread

  1. I searched for one of these already and was surprised to not find any. This series is amazing, definitely my favorite depiction of the war. In the last episode where it is just pure interviews of the actual men of easy company I admit I started getting teary-eyed.

It looks like they are also making a new series very similar to BoB except it takes place in the pacific this time:

Word BoB is an awesome series. I can't wait for The Pacific; it's due out this year.

  3. Band Of Brothers is epic. I've seen every episode at least ten times, and I still watch it when it comes on the History Channel. If the Pacific is even nearly as good, I'll be a happy man.

  4. I still need to get BoB on dvd; I loved this series so much. I cant wait for Pacific!
I dunno why, but I've been obsessed with WWII ever since I was like 11... I think it was because of Return to Castle Wolfenstein... yeah, it was definitely that.:p

  5. This was a great series. I can't wait for the Pacific either.

  6. GREAT GREAT series. I loved every bit of them. Excellent movie making.

  8. I marathon watched BoB over 3-4 days I think when I first got it and I was in a WW2 kind of mood.

I got a bit over board I think because I was watching Saving Private Ryan with a girl and in the scene some dude was getting firebombed on his motorcycle and such(the battle to control the one bridge where Hanks goes deaf) and the girl said something witty and I just said bluntly something like 'That shits not funny because there were people that actually went through that.'

Least to say I didn't get laid that night. =(

But when it comes to vets of the old days like WW2 I give them my respect as they did shit most people .. words just don't describe, you know?

The two episodes from BoB I really loved but can't remember the titles were the one where the unlucky guy finds some amborsia or a flower and its brings him luck and the Battle of the Bulge one where the doc has to treat the guys and heads back to the city a few times during the episode and meets the French? girl.

I really liked the interviews also.

Kind of like when one of them said they thought about that the guy they were shooting could've been friends, they could've gone fishing if they weren't at war....

I don't believe in the government pushing citizens into the fights that they start and decide to get involved with but I do at least have respect for combat vets.

From what I've heard I've felt bad for Vietnam vets and how they were treated when they came back home.
