i have been working on a project that involves bamboo. we made a calculation that might be kinda interesting. during the hot months, in a wet year, we can get some growth rates of around 3ft/day. that comes out to ~ .000018 MPH worth of physical hight building
i've seen this too. a couple of weeks ago my dad chopped down a some of the bamboo that we had growing. the shoots were bigger around than a softball and they were about 45-60 feet tall. now about 2.5 weeks later there are lots more new shoots coming from the root systems. the tallest are now 3-4 feet tall. and this is in the texas summer. god i wish all plants would grow this fast...
someone should seriously single out the genetic trait that stimulates such growth and incorporate it into the marijuana genome. now that would kick ass.
yea ive heard of some weird strain of bamboo growing 5 ft a day but the root system took 5 years before it sprouted
hellllll yeah muthafucka ALL GENETIC ENGINEERS....THIS IS YOUR CALLING! lol...but yea i have known about bamboo's growth rate for a long time.....its most def some crazy shit...
