i purchased a MH and HPS light bulbs both 400w but i can not find any ballast or fixture to place them in. does anyone know a store that sells them because i do not feel like ordering one. i also figured if i could just find a socket that would suit the light bulb i could hand craft a pretty damn good fixture myself i just need guidance to the parts. any suggestion are greatly appreciated.
You cannot screw them into a socket. If you dont want to buy a ballast online... youre kind of screwed unless you can find one locally. Look into a ballast kit if youre low on money and feel like rigging one up yourself. they come with ignitor, ballast, capacitor and mogul socket. Or just fork out the money for a digi ballast which can house both HPS and MH bulb
