I have a 400w Lumatech digital ballast, it blew a bulb, and wouldnt light up a new one, i checked it out and found that the fuse thats at the power connection side and I cant get it to fire up anymore. are there internal fuses? anyone have any xperience with this?
I'm willing to bet u have blown your capacitor. They cost approx. $30 from a grow store. Everytime a ballast fucks off on me it's because of the capacitor. Inside the ballast there will be 3 main parts. The piece that looks like an oval-shaped tin can is the capacitor. It snaps in and out of place VERY EASILY. Make sure u don't pay some jerk $80 to fix it.
awsome, thanks for the info! i'm going to pull this thing apart and see what i can see, are your ballasts digital? this is my ballast (link to the manufacture) http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=3171 the local hydro shop doesnt have any instock digital ballast repalcements,, they have a bunch for the core and coil type
