Ballast buzzing, lamp won't ignite?

    Hello

    I am hoping to get some help diagnosing what might be wrong with my new set up. I am a complete beginner. First set up ever so I'm a bit lost on where to turn for help. I have an EP 600w magnetic ballast suitable for HPS lamps connected to a hood with a cultiv8 600w hps lamp. When I turn on the power the ballast buzzes very loudly and the light does not turn on.

    Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

    If it's under warranty get them to deal with it. I wouldn't trust anyone on a forum to give an answer to something like this. Just me maybe.


    First grow using cfls.

    yes definitely something wrong with the unit, get it replaced
