Baked stuff with THC coconut oil, tastes reeeeeally bad

    Boyfriend's brother gave us some frozen cubes of thc infused coconut oil. We decided to make some whole wheat cookies and brownies using them. I've had edibles before (only used weed butter before though) and I'm familiar with the weird and slightly unpleasant weed flavor but it doesn't bother me. This, though...you can't taste it quite as much in the cookies, but with the brownies, they taste and smell like straight up vomit. It's so bad I couldn't even finish my brownie. My boyfriend who eats anything barely even kept his down. I thought maybe the thc oil went bad but I don't think coconut oil goes bad, and it was frozen anyway. And thc oil should not taste/smell like puke. Any thoughts? We still have some cubes left and want to bake more edibles but it's bad, dude.

    It does sound like the coconut oil went rancid somehow, possibly before it was frozen. If the cookies tasted OK, I'd make them again since they're edible at least. I once made a batch of brownies that tasted so strong I couldn't get them down except by blending some into a milkshake. Then you had to drink a lot and it was sickening. Good luck, or better luck, I should say, with the next batch.
