14 Days Post Transplant She is adapting to her new environment just like I hoped. I did not expect to see any pre-flowering based on the amount of increasing light hours in April coupled with the shock of being transplanted. I was guessing it would take her about 5 days to get out of the shock zone before she realized she was in a new home. You can tell from the pictures in the previous post that the first week was very sad for her. Her leaves weren't perky and her stems were a dark purple color... She is now perky and purple-less. Over the next week I expect to see her leaves start to darken as further evidence that new roots are being spread across her new home.
4/30/22 - Cream n cheese is heading outdoors. She has about 12 leads and I still have the primary one tied down. It's supposed to be a indica dominant strain but her leaves are more sativa and her stretch leans that way as well... Im excited!! (Bamboo stake with velcro in order to easily LST the girls. She is about 13 inches right now.
05/05/2022 - Super Critical Bud CBD heading outdoors. She's beautiful at 12 inches tall. About 10 solid leads.
Spring has Sprung! Cream & Cheese Super Critical Bud CBD Gorilla Girl - x2 Tutankhamon (furthest away) The early April Gorilla Girl is in the middle with a twin sister to her right. We'll see how they compete thru the year. Blu-mat irrigation install will happen after the next decent rain. Compared to last year: May 18th 2021
Entering the first full week of 70 degrees or higher temps...so the blu-mats went in the ground - I'm using (1) 9 inch and (1) 5 inch carrot per hole with each carrot utilizing two drippers in a closed loop gravity fed system.
Listed as brand new on craigslist, unopened box (stolen maybe?) but $100 dollars cash was offered and accepted. I've used it three times so far and I'm quite impressed with its coverage, ease of use, and low noise functionality. It's not as "powerful" as the Hudson Fogger but if you don't have trays and trays of plants...this is a great pickup. I expect the retail price which is roughly $180 now to drop down to $100 by EOY.....it was most likely built for covid, right? That worry wart spray everything down ship has sailed.....expect clearance prices!
I had picked up the Ryobi 1/2 gallon handheld one a couple weeks back from HD ($165). It was an overall bigger and heavier sprayer compared to this one...and you couldn't tilt it upright due to the hose feed inside the tank. Loving the backpack - You know its a good product when you're looking forward to IPM day.,
I’m just worried that it may be too powerful for my indoor rooms. I’ve used another version of these and it blasted through my 4’ wide beds and soaked the walls. And it was pretty rough on flats of clones and smaller plants. I was looking at the smaller, non backpack version too. Maybe less powerful and more appropriate for my needs. I’ve never used the electrostatic sprayer either, the old pump sprayer has worked well for years.
Thats exactly what the Hudson fogger is.....a leaf blower that spits out water. I tried it on my indoor grow and it was a badddd idea. Everything soaked with no control. The lowest setting on the Ryobi will create a 65 micron spray that only has a distance of a couple feet...compared to the Hudson that would blow it 15 ft. The 1/2 gallon ryobi has the same spray as the 1gallon but is heavier, more cumbersome, and doesn't have a cool backpack.
I dodged the bullet on the spring set with just one bud chewed loose and dried and a handful of very tiny Caterpillars hanging from the harvested buds. I don't usually have to do any IPM for the winter and spring sets. It's the summer and fall sets that the PM and catties raise Cain with. Still getting it done with 1 gallon hand pump sprayers. BNW
hand pump! pfftttt... I too remember when my grandmother was first introduced to the microwave ....Hot water for tea in 1 minute...but she still filled that kettle to the brim and waited 20mins for the stove... old timers! ya know......something something old dog and tricks hehe I do like that I use way less liquid for more coverage with my new spray toy.
Top dressed a cup of earthworm castings to the girls today. I'll let mother nature work it in as the rain falls or the birds bathe. This task plus a neem IPM spray made the day..
All things being equal - one of these plants will get a healthy scoop of castings tomorrow....the other plant I will wait a few more days. Can you tell which plant I'm withholding feeding by my bro science leaf structure?
A couple hydro store bag soil only set it and forget it autos' - Maybe I get a couple oz's or so after the drying... So much pollen on the girls..
Side angle shot after a neem spray and top dressing of castings. No more feeding until those leaf serrations settle down.
