Shit is going down in Bahrain. They are having a full-fledged revolution as we speak. For those who don't know, Bahrain is an ally to the US, and we send aid to their gov't every year. We also have a base there, which is a strategic location in regards to Iran. Bahrain is a small island in the Persian Gulf between Saudi Arabia and Iran. This is what our aid is funding: WATCHER BEWARE. INCREDIBLY GRAPHIC! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzi5XSoA-S0"]Bahrain mercenary riot police.mp4 - YouTube[/ame] Here is a 3 hour podcast interview with Amber Lyon, an ex-CNN reporter who went to Bahrain to document said events. Most of her footage was erased, and the remaining footage that was pieced together was blacklisted by CNN. She complained and got employment threats, and left CNN. Shit has been going down there for a long time now but we don't hear about it because we are in bed with it's Gov't and because our USN 5th Fleet is stationed there. http://forum.grasscity.com/politics...mber-lyon-exposes-massive-censorship-cnn.html
Any time you hear the political rhetoric about freedom and democracy and respect for human rights, remember that the US has consistently supported oppressive regimes all over the world. This continues in Bahrain today. As Glenn Greenwald points out, CNN is really quite openly paid by the Bahrain government to air positive propaganda and censorship any critical coverage.
It only counts as the Arab Spring if it disposes regimes friendly to Russia. Thus, there is nothing to see in Bahrain, or Saudi Arabia.
Good news is that since yesterday this podcast has been viewed 11,497,697 times. Holy shit Joe Rogan! If anyone can take the reigns from Howard Stern I say it's Joe. Keep up the good work

If MSNBC, FOX and other mainstream news outlets aren't talking about this I figure they're being paid off too. If FOX or whoever did a huge expose on it not only would they fulfill their journalistic duties (LOL), they could batter CNN, a main competitor with criticism for being paid to report favorably on a dictatorial regime.
I like how few posters there are for threads such as this. It shows an uncomfortable truth that all mainstream news outlets act as gatekeepers for the same money interests, there aren't any partisan jabs to be made. Yet if Fox News had been caught doing this we'd already be on a 10 page thread about it. Silence is complicity, regardless of who it stems from.
I am always dedicated to stuff like this. I grew up in the Middle East. I was born and raised in Dharan, Saudi Arabia. My parents are Americans who worked for Saudi Aramco. The culture in Saudi is a very different and unique experience I had as a young person. I wasn't subjected to very much American media. When I went to the US for the first time I realized they had a very misconstrued view of things and were essentially dumbed down. They believed the government could do nothing wrong and they believed the government was justified in the wars it had recently started. This really got me upset. It's really refreshing to see there is at least a community of people that know the truth about things. I'm sick of the imperialist government believing they have the right to prop up governments and dictatorships who are kind to American interests but not kind to their own people. I really hope one day all the oppressed countries can stand up to the US and have real democracy even where I grew up. Living in the Middle East really does give you a unique view of how things really are.
