Bagseed flowering week 4/5 - sugar leaves drooping

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by dencode, Jul 28, 2020.

  1. Currently in week 4 or 5 of flower from bag seed. One plant seems to be doing well, the other has buds that aren't filling out, just popping up bud sites everywhere. Wasn't terribly worried about it, but 3 days ago I noticed the sugar leaves on the main kola are drooping and look withered. Searched all over the site for this, but can't find any help, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

Growing in sta-green potting mix with perlite added, probably 60/40. Using dyna-gro bloom, 1/8 tsp per gallon every other water that has been ph'd to 6.2. Runoff reads 5.6, even after doing a 3 gallon flush the day after I noticed the droop. Have 10 led 2700k 10w bulbs in a 20" by 37" by 30" cabinet for lighting. Watering every 3 days or so from half tap half distilled, growing in 2 gallon smart pots. Ppm of water going in is 300, water coming out is 500, so I haven't fed in about 2 weeks

The big plant that is still doing well had some fungus gnat issues, which were addressed by adding a layer of play sand which has since been scooped up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first grow, and I think I'm only 3-4 weeks away from harvest! 20200728_072124.jpg 20200728_072133.jpg 20200728_072144.jpg 20200728_072207.jpg 20200728_072237.jpg 20200728_074339.jpg 20200728_074350.jpg 20200728_074403.jpg

the first plant that got the dropping leaves and dark green leaves is nitrogen toxicity ...cut out the nutrients with N ,just water a couple times with run off of water from bottom of pots,,, then feed with bloom nutes or P/K nutes ..mac,
ps the buds will soon fatten up ,,,ho do you know the plant has only 3-4 weeks left if it was a bagseed?

  3. Thank you, Mac! I'll cut out the N and hope for some improvement. You're saying to add the runoff water to the next batch of watering? Kind of like do a really light flush and then use that to water next time?

And 3-4 weeks because I feel like the trichomes are almost completely filled in - it looks frosty af to me!

  4. no when you water have about 30% -50% run off ,just throw the run off away or put in on the garden out side if you have one ,,Do not add it to the next batch of water you'l be tipping salts from the nutrients back in to the pots and that will cause more trouble for your plants ,just do the light flush and dump the run off,,mac,

  5. Hey, Mac! It's not looking too hot right now.. I've been doing the 30% runoff and putting it back in.. I'm afraid I'm going to lose them before harvest time! I do think I still have a gnat problem, behind my carbon scrubber in the corner I found some dead gnats.. maybe 50 or so. Do smart pots help them hide?

Anyway, please look at these pics and let me know if you have any ideas on how to save this grow!

The plant in the dark is the smaller one you helped me with last time. 20200806_194604.jpg 20200806_194611.jpg 20200806_194538.jpg

  6. i never said to you put the run off back in to the plants ,,i said throw it out on to garden soil out side not back on to your plants ..cuz if you put it back on to your plants you'l be tipping the salts left in the water back on to the plants ,,,you buds at the moment dont look to bad from what i see just give them water and throw the run off away ,,,then after say two watering on separate days,, feed the plant with half strength feed..any run off throw away ,,mac.

  7. yeah what mac said is spot on ... dont recirculate your runoff... thats like taking a bath after being all sweaty and dirty... then proceeding to use that same to water to shower in ... and trichomes coming in dont mean plants almost ready... thats a natural thing ... wait till ypur trichs are cloudy with a couple amber here and there and begin your end of harvest flush... where you olny give water for final week or 2. Whens shes ready to cut down she will tell you. Pistils will suck in and mostly be orangey , red, brown. Not mostly white. Also the trichs will be all cloudy and some ambering . Should be peak potency rite there . If it was a photo seed prolly 8-10 weeks of flower . If it was a automatic . Which u would know because it would have been flowering under 18hrs light or more. Will be shorter like 6 to 8 weeks

  8. I may have been a little toasted last night- I meant putting the plants back in the cabinet, not the runoff back in. Have been throwing that away!

  11. well a lot of strains take around 8-9 weeks so its nearly ready have you checked the trichomes on the buds ,,or if you have got a magnifier to look at them wait till the pistils (white Hairs) have turned at least 80% brown ..its really to late to start messing around trying to correct the feed etc just give water ,, heres a chart read it and see the trichomes and about the pistils etc and finishing ..mac. when-to-harvest-cannabis-diagram (1).jpg
